15:49:23 <Dave from B> Morning everyone
15:55:54 <ynpvisitor90> Are you sure this isn't a dream Dave?
15:59:43 <ynpvisitor84> A wet dream
16:00:05 <Dave from B> I thought April showers brought May flowers. What do May showers bring?
16:00:49 <ynpvisitor90> Rockslides?
16:01:01 <ynpvisitor84> Grumpy people ?
16:01:10 <Dave from B> All of the above
16:01:50 <ynpvisitor84> Supposed to be sunny and 70 in the park this weekend
16:22:57 <CO Dave> Lion ie 0822
16:23:31 <CO Dave> looks like 3rd in series according to GT
16:24:10 <ynpvisitor13> you mean 2nd
16:25:05 <CO Dave> right.... not enough coffee yet to count to 3.
16:27:05 <CO Dave> Now I have Monty Python in my head... counting to three....
16:27:32 <ynpvisitor13> :)
16:59:32 <CO Dave> oh dear...
16:59:37 <CO Dave> conewalker
17:00:03 <ynpvisitor90> Total idiot
17:00:15 <ynpvisitor24> presumably he cannot read?
17:00:39 <CO Dave> right up to the vent.
17:00:42 <ynpvisitor24> Or maybe he thinks that the signs simply do not apply to him?
17:00:42 <ynpvisitor90> Think he will get big ticket. Breakin pieces off
17:00:55 <CO Dave> two more
17:01:06 <ynpvisitor24> Nuts
17:01:08 <CO Dave> two women with umbrellas
17:01:14 <ynpvisitor65> Three rangers going out now
17:01:26 <CO Dave> nice work camop to follow them
17:01:36 <ynpvisitor24> Maybe they thought no one was watching them.
17:02:02 <ynpvisitor90> Great! Book him!
17:02:18 <CO Dave> he blew them off and walked away!
17:02:40 <CO Dave> dang... out of range.
17:02:42 <ynpvisitor13> That made me angry
17:02:45 <ynpvisitor24> Surely he gets a ticket for that?
17:02:47 <ynpvisitor65> Hope they do but they will probably get a warning
17:03:09 <ynpvisitor90> I think they will nail him since he was breaking pieces off.
17:03:22 <Dave from B> I missed it. They actually broke sinter off cone of OF?
17:03:31 <CO Dave> and just ignoring them and walking away. that would get a trip to jail in any other LE situation.
17:03:32 <ynpvisitor90> Banning from National Parks would be good too.
17:03:40 <ynpvisitor13> I thought he was goign to climb into the vent. He was right on the edge.
17:03:44 <ynpvisitor65> I thought he was picking up rocks
17:03:45 <CO Dave> yeah, reaching down and picking up stuff right next to the vent.
17:04:00 <ynpvisitor96> Hopefully he is in big trouble !
17:04:23 <ynpvisitor96> They should look in his pockets
17:04:27 <Dave from B> They should tie him to a pole next to OF and make him stand thru the next eruption.:)
17:04:47 <ynpvisitor24> I thought he just walked off but h did go out of shot so we could not see what happened but it certainly looked as though he left.
17:05:14 <ynpvisitor96> Make him wear an I AM AN IDIOT placard standing in the rain all day
17:06:05 <ynpvisitor90> Idiot is a step up for that guy.
17:06:15 <ynpvisitor13> He was taken towards the vec
17:07:25 <ynpvisitor90> I think there were multiple rangers there that were escorting them. That is one of the worst that I have ever seen. Ranks with the tour guide that took his group up there.
17:08:17 <ynpvisitor96> Hardly anything happened to that tour guide
17:08:39 <Dave from B> ..
17:08:45 <ynpvisitor96> Just a fine, no time out of park or in jail
17:18:29 <ynpvisitor90> If they do that in front of the VEC, what are they doing in the outlying areas. They should really toss the book at the fools that do in in front of a building full of rangers.
17:20:33 <Dave from B> They need to make an example out of someone and heavily publicize to deter others
17:21:47 <ynpvisitor90> Right on Dave.
17:22:24 <Kevin L> Just realized I was still a number!
17:22:48 <Dave from B> We need someone good at social media to lead the charge!
17:22:52 <Dave from B> Morning Kevin
17:23:31 <Dave from B> How long before there is a railing at OF.....all the way around?
17:26:20 <Kevin L> They may need to do that. Hate to see it but with so many people going off the bw they may have to.
17:26:48 <Jenna> Lion ie
17:29:49 <Dave from B> Or, how about a water moat with alligators?:D
17:29:55 <Dave from B> Morning Jenna
17:31:49 <ynpvisitor65> Nexxt they will put fences around like at Fountain.
17:32:39 <Eric> Morning everyone...guess I missed the excitement
17:32:40 <Jenna> morning Dave
17:32:49 <Dave from B> A better answer is to have many volunteers in all basins...essentally like they do at bear jams
17:33:12 <Jenna> OF
17:33:13 <Eric> My suggestion is a gun attached to the camera...give the camop more "authority" :-P
17:33:21 <Eric> OF
17:33:35 <Dave from B> haha, Eric...with a tranquilizer dart?
17:34:01 <Eric> Paitballs...that splat "Heh, stupid" on their backs.
17:34:13 <Eric> and hurt
17:47:21 <Betty> Morning all
17:48:30 <Betty> Everybody upset? What happened?
17:49:08 <ynpvisitor13> cone walkers at OF
17:49:21 <Dave from B> Broke off part of OF sinter
17:50:06 <ynpvisitor8> resource damage has a definite fine
17:50:14 <Betty> Stupid Folks. Really? They broke off parts of the cone?
17:51:51 <Betty> They should send them to prison! That's a serious violation.
17:56:32 <ynpvisitor13> I just watched the recording again. He puts his hand down onto the ground twice but I couldn't see him pick up anything even when I zoomed in.
17:57:38 <Dave from B> Thanks for the clarification 13.
17:58:28 <Dave from B> I edited my GT post
17:59:00 <Dave from B> Might have been feeling to see if ground was warm
18:01:24 <Eric> walking out there and busting off sinter are two very different charges I am sure.
18:01:33 <ynpvisitor13> I once was a person walk down to Great Fountains foramtion, stick his hands into the run off of the ongoing eruption and pull up a plate sized peice of sinter. Tghe amazing part is that the park geologist, in uniform, was standing 10 feet away. It happened so fast, and came as such a shock that none of us had time to react before the damage was done.
18:01:54 <ynpvisitor13> That guy got quite the lecture before the protectives arrived.
18:02:04 <Dave from B> wow
18:02:06 <Eric> Wow...that is amazing 13
18:02:30 <Eric> I bet mammoth gets abused like that a lot.
18:02:49 <ynpvisitor13> yes
18:06:03 <ynpvisitor13> Enjoy BH, Grand, Daisy and Lion. I'll be back in 6 hours.
18:06:18 <Dave from B> Thanks for driving, 13!
18:19:38 <Kevin L> Lion
18:20:12 <Dave from B> 4th in series
18:21:34 <Kevin L> Nice to have people in the field posting before we do!
18:21:56 <ynpvisitor91> Dave, I love your ns major post about the cone walker
18:26:00 <Dave from B> I was hoping someone would notice that:). Have to hide humor wherever we can!
18:26:19 <Jenna> makes me sad I missed it, I've never seen a "slew"
18:26:20 <Dave from B> Definitely not a minor infraction
18:26:39 <Dave from B> I couldn't remember how many...was it 3 rangers?
18:29:01 <CO Dave> I saw three.
18:29:25 <Kevin L> At least 3.
18:30:47 <Kevin L> And they did not look happy.
18:32:07 <ynpvisitor91> no LE's though, they were herding them to the LE's I hope
18:32:19 <Kevin L> Daisy over 3h
18:37:20 <ynpvisitor8> ..
18:40:17 <Jenna> Daisy
18:40:37 <Jenna> was that Grand too?
18:40:44 <ynpvisitor8> ..
18:51:18 <Kevin L> I assumed it was Oblong since we were under 6h but it sure looks like Grand.
18:52:39 <Kevin L> It was Oblong. Posted at 1039 BUT this is Grand posted at 1048ie.
18:53:13 <Jenna> ah ok
18:53:26 <Jenna> I thought it was too early also
18:53:34 <Jenna> but just barely
18:53:37 <Kevin L> THink this one surprised the gazers. No turban times posted.
18:54:07 <Kevin L> Coming to an OF window.
18:54:32 <Kevin L> Bet that is a steamy mess on the BW
18:56:12 <Kevin L> Nice bursts
18:56:52 <Dave from B> Right at the beginning of the window
18:58:14 <ynpvisitor8> ..
18:58:34 <Eric> Grand used up all it's D's yesterday
18:59:39 <Kevin L> Think this will be a 1b
19:02:04 <Eric> OF
19:02:06 <Kevin L> What a curtain!
19:02:53 <Eric> IS there something to the left of Daisy?
19:03:13 <Eric> Pretty good size steam bank back there...
19:08:02 <Kevin L> Castle is about all that is due for a while.
19:09:43 <Eric> I expect BH soon :-)
19:10:14 <Betty> ÄI guess I will miss it again today, only lurking
19:13:35 <Kevin L> .25" of rain at OF in last 6 hours.
19:15:42 <Dave from B> Clouds are really lhick in Blgs today..expecting rain very soon
19:17:50 <ynpvisitor29> Is that ranger picking up trash? Do people really just leave their garbage laying there???? RUDE!
19:19:38 <CO Dave> better than picking up conewalkers.
19:20:57 <ynpvisitor29> And what is a conewalker?
19:22:07 <Eric> Conewalkers are people who walk up to the cone of a geyser and don't stay on the boardwalk.
19:22:19 <Kevin L> A cone walker is someone who goes off the boardwalk. This one was right at the opening for Old Faithful.
19:23:03 <Kevin L> Can get a big fine, or even jail time and be banned from the park for doing that.
19:23:07 <ynpvisitor29> Ohhh i see. I missed that,
19:24:29 <ynpvisitor29> But yeah I understand how that can be dangerous, especially when that water is boiling hot! People are so dumb sometimes!
19:25:10 <Kevin L> Not only that, it damages the features.
19:26:55 <ynpvisitor29> Jeez. No respect. Thanks for defining that for me though, I'm new to this so not very good with the lingo. I have been watching recently cause I'm planning a camping trip to yellowstone this summer
19:27:48 <Kevin L> Is it your first trip?
19:28:24 <ynpvisitor29> Yes! And I'm super excited! I haven't been mountain camping since i lived in Arizona 15 years ago!
19:29:59 <Kevin L> This is a park like no other. Be sure to make time to see Grand Geyser, Daisy Geyser, and if possible catch a Beehive Geyser.
19:31:19 <ynpvisitor29> I know, i have been doing a lot of reading on it and I have never seen such beauty! I do plan on staying a week so hopefully I will be able to catch all of them, I am especially looking forward to Grand!
19:31:50 <Eric> What campgrounda are you staying at 29?
19:31:53 <Kevin L> There are lots of geyser gazers there like on this page that can help you out. Most of them carry a radio and take notes.
19:33:24 <Eric> I highly recommend Madison or Norris if you want to spend time at geysers.
19:33:28 <ynpvisitor29> I am partial towards Canyon Village, Eric, but I haven't decided 100% yet.
19:34:12 <ynpvisitor29> What do you guys recomend?
19:35:05 <Eric> Canyon is more improved...but it's a long drive over to to the geyser basins if you want to spend time watching them.
19:35:16 <Kevin L> I would also suggest Madison or Norris if you want to see geysers. Save you a lot of gas!
19:35:22 <ynpvisitor29> Lol I just saw your post above mine, eric, I will look into them right now!
19:35:36 <Eric> Personally I don't spend much time in camp while there :-)
19:36:21 <Kevin L> If you haven't got this book yet 29, you should check it out. You may see it refered to as "the Bible" on this page: http://www.amazon.com/Geysers-Yellowstone-Fourth-Scott-Bryan/dp/0870819240/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432834404&sr=8-1&keywords=geysers+of+yellowstone
19:36:27 <Eric> It's all about getting out and seeing the park. Think about splitting your camping between a couple spots. half in Madison, the other half in Canyon.
19:36:40 <ynpvisitor29> Thank you guys so much, this should help me pick a spot more convenient for my trip!
19:37:11 <ynpvisitor29> Awesome! Thank you Kevin!
19:37:47 <Eric> BTW, you can pick that book up at the Old Faithful Visitors center in the bookstore there.
19:38:27 <Eric> Or get it ahead of time for planning.
19:38:40 <Kevin L> Brink of the Falls and Uncle Tom's trail are great for Canyon.
19:39:31 <ynpvisitor29> You guys rock! I'm glad I found this room!
19:40:38 <Kevin L> Are you familiar with geysertimes.org?
19:42:08 <ynpvisitor29> I have not checked it out. Is that where prediction times are posted?
19:42:32 <Eric> And if you want to see wildlife, go here in the early morning or late afternoon: https://goo.gl/ftJopn
19:42:53 <Eric> It's called grizzly bear lookout I believe
19:43:17 <Eric> I have seen, Bear, Bison, Wolves and wolf pups from there.
19:44:14 <Kevin L> It has a predictions and a list of the times that geysers have erupted. www.geysertimes.org and also check out http://www.geyserstudy.org/
19:45:10 <Dave from B> But if you want really good predictions.....
19:45:16 <ynpvisitor29> Nice! Seriously though, you guys are helping me a TON with these tips! I have learned more on this chat than just trying to research the park myself! Now I wont feel so blind when I get there!
19:45:51 <Dave from B> ask someone in a floppy hat
19:46:41 <ynpvisitor29> Lol Dave!
19:47:04 <Eric> He's really not joking...it's pretty much the universal symbol of geyser gazing :-)
19:47:32 <Eric> Great hats to protect from sun or rain.
19:48:43 <Kevin L> You will want to take time to sit and wait for geysers. You will be surprised what you see if you look around. If you sit by Doublet Pool on Geyser Hill about every half hour the pool will rise and you will feel the boardwalk thump with the steam explosions below you!
19:49:49 <ynpvisitor29> Awesome! I already bought a pocket journal for my trip, cause I like to catalog my life day by day and now the first two pages are full of these tips!
19:51:33 <ynpvisitor29> Now I just wish I picked a sooner date! I'm arriving on jul 31st - aug 7th
19:52:22 <Eric> You should have some nice weather...but be prepared for it to still be cold at night
19:52:38 <Jenna> be prepared for surprise afternoon storms
19:53:28 <Eric> I see we have some sitters at BH...any BHI?
19:53:52 <ynpvisitor29> I look forward to them Jenna! I love a good storm! I want the whole yellowstone experience!
19:54:01 <Kevin L> Looks quiet so far
19:54:18 <Jenna> You should get a good taste with a week
19:54:39 <Jenna> then you can plan your next trip as soon as you get home :)
19:55:27 <Kevin L> I have been coming since the 60s. Never gets old. Always something different there!
19:56:17 <ynpvisitor29> I'm sure I will love it and probably will want to make it a regular thing!
19:57:35 <Jenna> where are you coming from?
19:59:13 <ynpvisitor29> I am coming from North Dakota! The prairie's are beautiful and all, but since moving to this state i have been dying to get back to the mountains!
19:59:40 <Kevin L> Hey Jenna, here is you ND connection!
20:00:45 <Jenna> there it is! lol
20:01:08 <Jenna> my sister and brother in law live there. my parents are going to visit next week.
20:01:25 <ynpvisitor29> Where do they live in ND?
20:03:01 <Jenna> I believe they're in Wilkinson?
20:03:17 <ynpvisitor29> I live in the town of Dickinson. It used to be one of those small towns, but since the oil boom started I have seen the population tripple! Its really fascinating to be a part of. Never thought I would see anything like it!
20:03:37 <Jenna> wait that sounds right
20:03:55 <Jenna> They've moved a couple of times so it's hard to keep track. Her husband works on the rigs.
20:04:17 <Jenna> her facebook says Alexander
20:04:28 <ynpvisitor29> Lol SMALL WORLD! That is awesome though! Its great opportunity!
20:04:46 <Jenna> yes, make the big bucks while they can!
20:05:29 <ynpvisitor29> Yep! I don't work in the fields, but I respect the guys who do! They don't call it rough-necking because its easy!
20:05:32 <Jenna> any suggestions of things to do/see? you can be the one giving out tips now :)
20:06:01 <Jenna> He's been there for about a year and a half, he's ready to come home lol
20:07:20 <ynpvisitor29> I live about 40 miles east of Medora and that is the biggest tourist attraction in ND! Teddy Roosevelt spent all his time in ND in Medora and its very old timey rustic fun! They have a Musical outdoors everynight in the ampetheatre and have one of the most popular Golf Courses in the country called the Bully Pullpit
20:08:52 <Jenna> she said they used to live in Dickinson before getting moved back, was an hour and a half closer to home but in a different time zone lol
20:09:14 <ynpvisitor29> Its right in the middle of The Badlands, which are absolutely gorgeous! They can only be compared to the painted desert. The Hiking is awesome through the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
20:09:44 <Kevin L> Is Depression ie?
20:09:51 <Jenna> they have been to the Badlands on the way to the park, so I'm sure that's on their list.
20:09:53 <Eric> I see no water
20:09:59 <Eric> It's steamy
20:10:35 <Kevin L> I think just a push
20:10:48 <Jenna> same with the national park, they are big hikers
20:11:34 <Eric> I hate umbrellas!
20:12:14 <Jenna> haha why?
20:12:22 <ynpvisitor29> It really is a neat place. Here in Dickinson we have the Dinosaur Museum which displays all the skeletons that were found in the badlands!
20:12:36 <Eric> The block your view, drip on other people and generally are just obnoxious.
20:12:40 <Jenna> very interesting
20:12:50 <Kevin L> This is Beehive Geyser 29. One of the best in the park. it is usually preceded by an indicatior geyser just to the right for a few minutes. You will see these called BH and BHI or indy on this page.
20:12:53 <Jenna> do you prefer ponchos Eric?
20:13:13 <Eric> Just a good rain jacket
20:13:38 <ynpvisitor29> I always feel like a lightning rod when holding an umbrella, so i usually avoid them too Eric lol
20:13:42 <Eric> Born and raised in the NW...You know who is not from here...they use umbrellas :-P
20:14:03 <Jenna> those storms I mentioned 29 can have lightning so that is a good idea
20:14:10 <Jenna> lol funny Eric
20:17:33 <ynpvisitor29> Well Folks, I am gonna go mist my flowers and weed my vegetable garden, so I am off for the afternoon. Thank you all again for the wonderful tips, and I am sure I will be on later! By the way my name is Alex and it was nice chatting with ya'll! Have a awesome day!
20:17:53 <Kevin L> Bye Alex.
20:28:45 <Eric> Crowds are growing...getting double stacks at OF
20:30:03 <Eric> large boil on improbable
20:30:26 <Eric> Cone walker dwarfs
20:30:28 <Eric> .
20:30:28 <Eric> .
20:30:29 <Eric> .
20:30:55 <Eric> I think they are back on the BW now
20:31:49 <Eric> Castle
20:40:34 <Eric> OF ie
20:46:19 <Dave from B> What did I miss?
20:47:47 <Eric> Me?
20:49:49 <Eric> Did the camera get a bandwidth upgrade? The image quality has seemed better over the last couple days.
20:50:10 <Dave from B> haha ERic
20:50:23 <Dave from B> Probably just a good wipe
20:51:59 <Eric> No, I mean the actually video feed is better...not as much artifacting and compression garbage in it.
20:52:28 <Dave from B> Mine is frozen:(
20:52:46 <Eric> Castle is beautiful :-) You are missing it.
20:53:06 <Dave from B> I'm back in action again
20:55:24 <Kevin L> The wipe may also help that Eric. Not as much crud to look through.
20:56:36 <Dave from B> Was that Barbara's umbrella?
20:57:34 <Kevin L> May have been.
21:03:01 <Eric> No BHI :-(
21:03:13 <Kevin L> Little bit of splashing there
21:04:15 <lt> riverside?
21:04:45 <Eric> Ok...I have to run out...so enjoy BH :-)
21:05:29 <Dave from B> Hi, lt.
21:06:01 <lt> hi Dave
21:21:08 <Kevin L> A doggie!
21:21:55 <ynpvisitor52> A cone walker, Call the Rangers
21:22:02 <Dave from B> Been awhile since I've seen one
21:22:17 <Dave from B> 52, you tell him to get bnack on the bw!:)
21:22:38 <ynpvisitor52> Here Kitty Kitty
21:28:09 <Kevin L> He would make some great sausage.
21:32:22 <Dave from B> Yum...not had lunch...you're making me hungry
21:33:06 <Kevin L> Not much better than bison sausage and jerky.
21:34:48 <Dave from B> Grrr...names and chat is gone:(
21:34:59 <Dave from B> Just talking to myself now
21:36:55 <Kevin L> That happens whenyou get old Dave.
21:37:58 <Kevin L> It looks like the weather is getting a bit better.
21:38:41 <Jenna> for now
21:38:57 <Jenna> would you choose May or September? If those were your only options?
21:39:13 <Kevin L> September.
21:39:28 <CO Dave> September after Labor Day.
21:39:59 <Kevin L> That is my first choice.
21:40:45 <Jenna> after watching the weather today I think I'd prefer the chance of snow
21:40:56 <Jenna> although snow could happen today too
21:41:41 <Dave from B> I may choose Sept over ealry June
21:42:08 <Dave from B> Daisy
21:53:25 <ynpvisitor61> OF
22:00:06 <CO Dave> that is aurum back there...
22:00:18 <CO Dave> 1400 ie
22:01:49 <Kevin L> At least we saw some of it.
22:02:19 <Kevin L> Some good looking BH splashes.
22:20:16 <Eric> I guess me leaving for lunch had no influence on BH :-P
22:22:03 <Kevin L> It worked for Aurum.
22:24:01 <Dave from B> Kevin, don't you have bus duty...we need to see the bug
22:24:40 <Kevin L> Past bus duty time
22:27:44 <Dave from B> Can you run an errand for me?
22:30:57 <Kevin L> BH may go dormant. I think tomorrow is her last day of school. She graduates June 5th.
22:31:21 <Dave from B> Tomorrow is last ever bus duty?
22:32:01 <Kevin L> I think it is over already.
22:34:33 <ynpvisitor1> Grand was under 6 hours, I bet that caught folks off guard
22:34:51 <ynpvisitor1> the homeless folk are at BH I see
22:37:41 <Dave from B> haha, 1
22:42:48 <ynpvisitor1> So Grand is 10 hours yesterday and under 6 today...
22:43:26 <ynpvisitor1> Donnie is in the basin I see from GT times
22:43:37 <Dave from B> Someone have a gun......let's put this page out of its misery
22:44:10 <ynpvisitor1> if only Dave from B, and this morning I could not get on GT or the page, early, so maybe something is up with the server too
22:50:06 <Andre from Germ> hello everbody
22:50:23 <Kevin L> Hi.
22:51:18 <Andre from Germ> How are your ?
22:51:29 <Kevin L> Found a link you may like Andre: http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/upload/2015_German.pdf
22:52:05 <Kevin L> Doing OK today. We are hoping for Beehive soon.
22:54:56 <Kevin L> Oblong?
22:56:04 <Andre from Germ> very good information I should come to the yellostone park
23:09:36 <Kevin L> Looks like the rain is coming back.
23:15:36 <ynpvisitor5> Seems like bh did a switch. I di dnot look at over night times. Was anyone around to see it if it went at night?
23:16:39 <Kevin L> Not sure if anyone was, but this is not an unusual interval for it now.
23:17:19 <ynpvisitor5> Nothing has been unusual for bh the last year or so.
23:21:44 <ynpvisitor5> Seems like Grand has been unusual also.
23:26:37 <ynpvisitor5> Lots of quitters. I am joining so I do not see of
23:28:00 <Eric> haha...you just quit :-P
23:31:25 <Kevin L> Page has a bad attitude today.
23:33:22 <Eric> OF 1533
23:51:44 <Dave from B> I agree. Page is not being nice to me today, either
23:52:29 <Eric> Those people are staring at me :-|
23:52:54 <Eric> Now they are waving.....better shut my browser before they see me!
23:53:15 <Andre from Germ> so I`m going sleep bye
23:53:25 <Eric> Night Andre
00:06:59 <Betty> Eric, BW-Dwarf is erupting
00:07:02 <Dave from B> Dwarf and Scissor....go wake up little indy
00:09:06 <ynpvisitor96> People have had a long wait
00:09:28 <Betty> and still have
00:10:02 <ynpvisitor86> Beehive doesn't like bad weather
00:10:23 <Eric> Thanks Betty...it was going yesterday too!
00:10:27 <Dave from B> BH is normal, then!
00:10:46 <Dave from B> We're about due for a no indy
00:19:38 <Betty> well, again no bee for me. Night all
00:19:52 <Betty> Churn ie
00:20:28 <Dave from B> Nite Betty
00:20:40 <Kevin L> Bye
00:20:47 <JAC> night betty
00:22:43 <Graham> hello
00:23:05 <Kevin L> Hi
00:56:07 <Dave from B> Hi, Graham
00:58:46 <Kevin L> There coes the clean dome.
01:11:23 <Graham> looks like i missed some conewalker fun today
01:11:58 <Dave from B> Wonder what the penalty was
01:12:13 <Dave from B> Hopefully, mopre than a slap on the wrist
01:21:32 <Kevin L> That one was scary. Guy went beyond idiot.
01:33:21 <ynpvisitor39> cb's Grand note is interesting
01:33:40 <ynpvisitor39> geysers have a mind of their own
01:34:09 <Kevin L> That is very strange.
01:34:52 <Graham> yep, thats an odd one. wondering when it will go now
01:35:05 <ynpvisitor39> I agree kevin, too bad she was not there the Turban before to have an interval on the Turban event
01:35:33 <ynpvisitor39> also thinking BH went during the rain event last evening when no one was watching
01:35:47 <ynpvisitor39> did the BH folks disperse?
01:36:25 <ynpvisitor39> maybe they went to Grand
01:36:53 <ynpvisitor13> If I understand, this was seen at 1644. We have no prior Turban time entered and teh next Turban was 1649.
01:37:15 <ynpvisitor39> yes, that is what I understand as well 13
01:37:24 <Graham> BH was 1215 tho, so unlikely before midnight
01:37:30 <ynpvisitor39> I was saying it would have been nice to know the earlier Turban time, the one before 1649
01:38:15 <ynpvisitor39> BH could have gone between 0200 and 0400, no one about
01:38:41 <ynpvisitor39> weather looking better
01:38:52 <ynpvisitor13> I'd love to know when the prior Turban occurred and what the pool looked like in between. The pool frequently looks really good 4 or 5 minutes before Turban and then drops. The buble from Grand is unusual but not unheard of.
01:38:55 <Graham> k, possible but still rather short interval
01:39:36 <ynpvisitor39> I would wager there are more shorts than we know of, that will come out when logger is downloaded, instead of 30 hours, it will be a 13 and 17, or something
01:40:47 <Graham> could be
01:40:56 <ynpvisitor39> if it did go last night, it could go in middle of night again
01:41:08 <ynpvisitor13> As for BH it was too dark to see the Hill on the webcam for most of the night. So it could have gone as late as 0440 and not been seen.
01:41:19 <ynpvisitor39> thanks 13
01:41:49 <ynpvisitor39> it has not seemed splashy, so just wondering...
01:42:24 <Graham> was it dead this morning?
01:42:31 <Kevin L> I saw a lot of splashing earlier
01:42:33 <Graham> no bubblers?
01:42:34 <ynpvisitor39> no note about it
01:42:43 <ynpvisitor39> thanks Kevin
01:43:47 <ynpvisitor39> maybe Donnie will venture out in the early hours and check tomorrow
01:45:13 <ynpvisitor39> Turban was at 42
01:57:30 <ynpvisitor13> grand
01:58:12 <Eric> Thanks 13
01:58:38 <Eric> I was reading through GT...all the In Park reports are great!
02:07:21 <Eric> really hard to see the water
02:07:36 <Eric> Maybe a 2b here
02:08:06 <Kevin L> Looking more like 1b
02:08:44 <Graham> 14m after prior turban
02:09:24 <Eric> Is that significant?
02:09:57 <Kevin L> D4T1C
02:10:32 <Eric> Sawmill ie
02:10:50 <Graham> wait, how can it be D4?
02:11:09 <ynpvisitor13> I was trying to figure that out too
02:11:18 <Graham> oh yeah
02:11:23 <Eric> Because cb waited 4 Turbans?
02:11:27 <Graham> someone must know the prior interval was long
02:12:41 <Graham> so those 14min Turban intervals catch ppl out
02:15:11 <Andrew> hello
02:22:20 <Kevin L> Looks like we have our first Pacific hurricane.
02:43:12 <lt> ok wow, the lighting right now is amazing
02:43:29 <lt> just wow.
02:43:46 <Graham> yep, very unusual
02:43:55 <Graham> spotlight on OF
02:43:58 <Graham> and gone
02:44:17 <lt> still that was amazingly gorgeous
02:44:27 <lt> glad I tabbed over at the right time
02:44:31 <Andrew> ooh thats pretty
02:44:36 <Andrew> rain
02:52:41 <JAC> A lion, excellent
02:52:48 <ynpvisitor13> lion
03:06:08 <JAC> daisy ie
03:27:40 <Andrew> nice evning
03:29:09 <Graham> Riverside
03:29:32 <Andrew> thought like somethign over there was erupting
03:33:58 <ynpvisitor75> still no BH?
03:40:56 <Kevin L> I would settle for a Giantess.
03:41:56 <ynpvisitor13> how about Depression?
03:42:07 <JAC> that looked like a burst to me
03:42:20 <ynpvisitor13> it was
03:43:08 <ynpvisitor13> I was wondering if Kevin would settle for Depression
03:43:17 <Kevin L> Depression will have to do.
03:44:13 <JAC> is that solitary steam in the trees?
03:44:24 <ynpvisitor13> yes
03:44:33 <ynpvisitor13> good light for it
03:45:50 <JAC> now if we can get that light for the next OF
03:46:48 <Kevin L> Better yet BH
03:47:36 <ynpvisitor13> Looks like we've got bubblers
03:47:51 <JAC> Last time i was in the basin BH 's early window was at sunset. beautiful light but all i got was an OF from a distance
03:48:35 <ynpvisitor13> :(
03:49:14 <Kevin L> One poor soul at the fence hoping.
03:51:05 <ynpvisitor13> almost everything is steaming .. but not the indicator
04:03:19 <lt> Lion
04:03:25 <lt> at least with water
04:04:48 <JAC> and there went lion
04:06:17 <JAC> as far as taking a picture, i know you can see lion when standing to the left of OF from the boardwalk, can you see lion from standing on the right side of the OF boardwalk
04:10:54 <ynpvisitor27> Suspicious steam cloud
04:18:09 <ynpvisitor27> No b n
05:14:50 <JAC> Lion 19:14
05:15:09 <ynpvisitor13> 2114
05:15:37 <JAC> my bad yes, 21:14
05:16:13 <Kevin L> Probably 1914 somewhere....
05:19:49 <ynpvisitor13> Actually, I can't think of anyplace in North America. I'll have to look into this.
05:21:12 <JAC> it would be the timezone just west of the US westcoast. Maybe the far tip of Alaska but i believe the timezone line jogs to keep it all in Pacific
05:21:30 <ynpvisitor13> southeast Alaska
05:22:03 <ynpvisitor13> It is curently 1922 in Juneau
05:23:06 <ynpvisitor13> Alaska Time Zone The Alaska Time Zone observes standard time by subtracting nine hours from Coordinated Universal Time. During daylight saving time its time offset is eight hours. Wikipedia
