15:45:46 <Dave from B> Morning everyone
15:53:56 <Dave from B> What is steam at back of GH to left of OF?
16:10:46 <Dave from B> Welcome back, Kevin!
16:11:20 <Kevin L> Morning Dave.
16:12:58 <Dave from B> Eric was asking me how many Aurums you saw. I guessed 2 but I think I was a little low. How many did you see?
16:13:24 <Kevin L> I got 3 of them.
16:13:52 <Dave from B> Not bad for summer time. I know you had to wait quite a while for at least 1 of them.
16:15:15 <Kevin L> First was a real quickie surprise. I earned the other two. Well worth it.
16:23:41 <Jenna> good to see you again Kevin!
16:24:23 <Kevin L> Morning Jenna.
16:26:36 <Jenna> glad to hear you caught some Aurums, sorry to hear about your car trouble
16:28:26 <Kevin L> It was great to catch the Aurums I did. They cooperated with other geysers nicely and I met Matt and Tara who were also Aurum fans so we had a great time waiting. II think they were surprised that someone else liked Aurum as much as they dis.
16:28:59 <Jenna> lol that's good
16:32:38 <Kevin L> Car trouble was not too bad. Dan had replaced the water pump and along with that many of the difficult parts including timing belt, serpentine belt, and hoses, or at least he thought he had. There was one obscure 3/8" hose under the air filter that he missed. It blew. Since it was about 0500 it took a while to figure it out.
16:34:57 <Kevin L> We were in convoy with Dan & I in the back car and all the girls in the front vechile. We had them run forward and bring back a couple of gallons of collant and we were able to cut the hose and still connect it. Limped to Filmore about 20 miles north, got the part, replaced it and were ready before the girls finished breakfast.
16:35:22 <Kevin L> Worst thing about it was we were very nervous the rest of the trip.
16:37:27 <Jenna> I'm glad you were able to get it fixed pretty easily, sort of
16:37:39 <Jenna> especially when you get to the park and services are so limited
16:40:15 <Kevin L> Frankly I really can't complain. We were in the middle of nowhere and between the two of us we had the tools to fix it. The hose broke right at the end so we barely had enough to make it work. The hose was looking pretty rough and I had put electrical tape in my tool bag so we wrapped it with that and it held with no issues.
16:41:35 <Jenna> not fun
16:42:01 <Dave from B> I think Kevin likes challenges!:)
16:43:27 <Kevin L> I could have done without that one!
16:43:55 <Dave from B> Happy to be back to the desert heat?
16:45:51 <Dave from B> Good morning Kent
16:46:20 <Kevin L> It was horrible when we got back. It was 109 degrees. The kid decided he could save some money on AC for us since he was only living on one side of the house he turned off the AC on the east side of the house. Walls were sooooo hot! took a long time to cool the master BR down. However temps this next week are all predicted under 100!
16:49:20 <Kent> Hey Dave, all.
16:49:26 <Jenna> BH splashing
16:49:37 <Jenna> that's a cool down for you Kevin!
16:52:31 <Kevin L> It is really strang since we usually have 105 plus this time of year. June is usually 100 and under.
16:56:31 <Jenna> you must have sent it to us, we've been having heat indexes of around 105-110 lately
16:57:36 <Kevin L> Yuck!
16:59:24 <Jenna> and horrible storms, there was a EF2 tornado about 30 min away on Thursday
17:01:23 <Kevin L> Would you believe that my daugher in Rexburg had tornado warnings in Rexburg?
17:01:40 <Kevin L> You can tell I am not totally awake today!
17:01:58 <Jenna> lol that's ok
17:02:01 <Jenna> I cannot believe that
17:02:05 <Jenna> it's been an odd summer
17:02:45 <Kevin L> They had several funnel clouds south of town and it killed their power and internet.
17:03:04 <Kevin L> Not what you exopect in Idaho.
17:03:26 <Dave from B> Did you catch my "virus" Kevin?:)
17:04:45 <Dave from B> Kent, have you been able to make it to YNP lately?
17:05:12 <Kevin L> I have survived so far Dave. My knee finally objected to my hiking on the way home. It was about the size of a grapefruit and would not move much. I was walking like Frankenstein on the way back.
17:11:00 <Kent> I was up to the park Monday and Tuesday Night. May be my only visit this season. I was told I just missed you.
17:17:02 <Dave from B> I left Sunday morning
17:17:36 <Dave from B> Sorry to hear your YNP visits are fewer this year, Kent
17:17:48 <Dave from B> Kevin, how is the knee feeling now?
17:18:27 <Kevin L> Much better. I think 12 hours of being in the same position may have been an issue.
17:20:34 <Dave from B> Yeah, that is a long time to sit on the Doublet bench watching Aurum
17:22:40 <Kevin L> Dan got a really nice night picture of the Inn with the center of the Galaxy (Milky Way) right over it.
17:22:51 <Kevin L> BH is looking happy.
17:23:43 <ynpvisitor52> So which will go first -- BH, Daisy, OF or Lion?
17:24:03 <Kevin L> OF
17:24:15 <Dave from B> 52, I like your question
17:24:17 <ynpvisitor52> you're no fun
17:24:29 <ynpvisitor52> Kevin's no fun
17:26:22 <Kevin L> How about this: All will go before OF, but OF will be late so we will end up missing them all.
17:26:57 <ynpvisitor52> Even worse -- but I got a good laugh ;)
17:27:28 <Dave from B> I will say Lion, BH, Daisy, OF
17:27:35 <Kevin L> I was surprised how man wildflowers were still in bloom up there.
17:27:49 <Dave from B> You'll have to let me know how I did. Time to work in the market today. May be back later.
17:27:59 <Kevin L> Did I mention I got 3 Lion initials while I was there Dave?
17:28:21 <Dave from B> That's great. I was good at getting the #2 in series...only 1 initial for me
17:29:07 <Kevin L> AND no mosquito bites!
17:53:02 <Kevin L> Nice BH action now.
18:02:39 <Kevin L> Indy

18:02:45 <ynpvisitor52> BHI 1002
18:03:40 <Kevin L> txt recieved
18:04:23 <ynpvisitor52> Unfortunately Kevin, I think you are correct. We are going to have to pull back for OF in about 5 minutes. Then there is also Daisy,
18:04:59 <Jenna> I like these intervals though
18:05:16 <ynpvisitor52> Oh yeah, and Grand
18:06:30 <Kevin L> Grand was a real problem child. I had to wait for a d13.
18:06:49 <ynpvisitor64> In basin folks are most likely at Grand. There should be some folks moving over soon
18:07:59 <lc> I had a d15 Kevin.
18:08:30 <Kevin L> It was not cooperative for sure
18:08:47 <Dave from B> Here they come
18:08:57 <Dave from B> Hi, lc
18:09:22 <Dave from B> Steve O is back
18:09:28 <lc> morning Dave
18:10:15 <lc> looks like Scott on phone
18:10:52 <ynpvisitor64> Jim arrived
18:10:53 <Kevin L> Maybe we will get an Aurum too!
18:11:21 <Dave from B> Then you can take a nap, Kevin
18:11:53 <lc> Kevin, how many Aurum's did you get?
18:13:12 <ynpvisitor64> Why be so far back? Do we need to see the concrete ?
18:13:37 <Kevin L> Daisy due
18:15:23 <Dave from B> C'mon Lion
18:18:10 <lc> Grand will probably go before they get back.
18:18:23 <ynpvisitor90> we would not see Lion behind BH, would rather it go alone
18:19:26 <ynpvisitor90> poof
18:19:26 <Kevin L> At least wind is blowing OF to the right
18:19:33 <ynpvisitor52> bh 1018
18:20:09 <ynpvisitor90> hopefully Grand waits for the masses
18:20:55 <Kevin L> Very tall
18:24:14 <ynpvisitor90> back to Grand...
18:24:36 <ynpvisitor90> Daisy
18:25:33 <Jenna> and OF
18:25:44 <Jenna> busy few minutes for sure
18:26:05 <ynpvisitor90> cam driver can take a snooze after Grand...
18:26:10 <Kevin L> Aurum is probably ie too.
18:26:50 <ynpvisitor52> Dave got three of the four correct.
18:27:48 <ynpvisitor52> The only one he had out of order was Lion
18:32:51 <ynpvisitor90> Grand was toying with folks with those shorter intervals...
18:33:34 <Kevin L> We are getting Turban times now. Thanks much Steve O
18:45:10 <ynpvisitor78> Oblong 1043ie per GT
18:49:00 <ynpvisitor78> Grand
18:49:32 <ynpvisitor78> Well, maybe not!
18:49:33 <ynpvisitor52> ?
18:49:55 <Kevin L> Grand was a short!
18:50:11 <ynpvisitor78> Being too hopeful!
18:50:38 <ynpvisitor52> better than not saying anything
19:04:03 <Graham> you kept Grand for me?
19:04:25 <ynpvisitor52> and Lion but nothing else
19:04:31 <lc> hey Graham
19:05:01 <Graham> hi lc
19:05:22 <Graham> Aurum is due
19:06:25 <ynpvisitor52> You ready to take the cam?
19:06:58 <Graham> sure
19:07:19 <ynpvisitor52> its yours -- thanks
19:07:40 <Graham> got it
19:11:53 <lc> back to my book, bbl.
19:11:54 <Graham> possible Aurum 1108 static
19:15:08 <Graham> Improbable is very steamy
19:15:50 <Derek> Hi Graham
19:18:34 <ynpvisitor52> Sorry no 1108 Aurum on the recording, but what was probably a nice boil on Gintess. Unfortunately, teh steam only lasted a few seconds.
19:19:38 <Kevin L> So Aurum is still due?
19:25:16 <Graham> thanks 52
19:27:56 <Jake> I saw heavy steam from the Aurum area around 1108, thought I had just missed an eruption
19:28:09 <ynpvisitor60> http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/site/index.php?pageid=event_desc&edis_id=UGE-20150718-49238-USA did anyone hear about the new thermal feature causing the road closure of upper terrace drive by the mammoth hot springs? very interesting!
19:28:28 <Jake> this from my view on the winow of the Photo Shop
19:30:23 <Jake> heavy steam there again now
19:36:16 <ynpvisitor60> Guess i'm the only one who thought it was a neat piece of info...Lol
19:36:39 <ynpvisitor52> no -- not true
19:36:46 <Jenna> I found it interesting, I've just seen it on FB already :)
19:36:53 <ynpvisitor52> I wanted to get more info.
19:39:23 <Jake> I didn't know the NPS had drilled holes there
19:42:37 <ynpvisitor8> Mammoth is funny that way. I guess the plumbing underground is made of swiss cheese
19:44:03 <Jake> Aurum area continues to steam heavily
19:44:16 <Jake> maybe these are Giantess boils and today is the day! ;)
19:45:33 <ynpvisitor8> Odds on that shouldn't be worse than 1 in a thousand...so why not?
19:45:52 <Kevin L> Maybe that is Matt getting frustrated by Aurum!
19:46:08 <Graham> OF
19:46:11 <Graham> a bit early
19:46:55 <Graham> not early by GT prediction but early by NPS :)
19:52:01 <Jake> bigger windows = more accurate predictions
19:52:27 <Jake> I made an OF prediction yesterday for a guest. Today between 8am and 10am. I was right!
19:52:50 <Graham> yeah, i bet they were happy
19:55:00 <Graham> Turban
19:55:20 <Kevin L> Sort of like the guy who called wanting to know the nearest OF time to noo about a week in the future. Ranger tried to explain that can't be done, but the guy insisted. He finally told him 45m before noon to 45m after nooo. Made him happy.
19:55:48 <Kevin L> And you can tell I am still not fully awake!
19:56:43 <Graham> good job he didn't tel him which time zone
19:57:06 <Jake> waves on Grand
19:57:14 <Graham> nice
19:57:48 <Graham> guess it was just Grand steam before
19:58:19 <Jake> [dramatic pause]
19:59:17 <ynpvisitor8> [crowd gets restless]
19:59:30 <Graham> must be a lag here
19:59:36 <Jake> [Jim starts slinking away]
20:00:03 <Kevin L> Crowd sighs and settles in for a long wait
20:00:19 <Graham> just like ppl calling event cycles, oit doesnt mean anything
20:00:48 <Graham> will it be a D?
20:00:52 <Jake> could make a killing selling pitchforks and torches out there right now
20:01:45 <Graham> maybe it will refill
20:01:53 <ynpvisitor8> I've been "that guy" enough times to sympathize.
20:01:58 <Graham> and then go on D15
20:03:09 <Jake> Turban and pool has dropped
20:03:33 <Graham> so no D
20:04:09 <Graham> Lion and LC
20:04:28 <Graham> didnt tell us we missedmost of it
20:04:38 <Jake> off to lunch
20:07:14 <Graham> lots of people still waiting for OF?
20:07:22 <ynpvisitor8> Looks like a lot of folks didn't get the memo about Old Faithful erupting.
20:07:23 <Graham> they have a long wait
20:09:39 <ynpvisitor8> Maybe the rangers are drawing straws to see who has to go out and tell them.
20:12:02 <Graham> why tell them, its a wonderful spot to sit
20:14:29 <ynpvisitor8> Well, they could go catch Grand first... :)
20:17:37 <ynpvisitor41> Or walk about GH
20:18:00 <Graham> or wait for Aurum
20:20:24 <Graham> Sawmill
20:22:07 <Graham> Turban
20:24:49 <ynpvisitor41> Looks like a fall day there if not for the green grass
20:25:44 <ynpvisitor41> At least a Turban under 20 minutes
20:25:59 <Graham> still waiting for the delay to start
20:37:02 <Kevin L> I have to leave in a few. That should help.
20:38:10 <Graham> Grand
20:41:28 <ynpvisitor30> 9 hours is enough of a delay
20:47:22 <ynpvisitor30> hard to believe Spasmodic could be that steamy mid afternoon in July
20:47:40 <ynpvisitor30> and that people are there instead of Grand
20:48:09 <ynpvisitor8> The Grand pool steam earlier did a very convincing Turban impression.
20:52:49 <ynpvisitor8> I hope Castle erupts just as everyone is trudging back in. Would be fairly early, though.
20:55:21 <ynpvisitor30> maybe Giantess will make their day
20:59:38 <ynpvisitor8> Would surely make mine.
21:04:31 <ynpvisitor8> Daisy
21:10:30 <Jake> OF crowd cheering for something
21:11:13 <Jenna> Lion
21:11:52 <Graham> remember they have been waiting pover an hour now Jake
21:23:08 <Graham> of
22:51:51 <Graham> of
23:39:34 <Graham> heading out, have fun
00:23:07 <ynpvisitor42> OF ie
00:41:50 <ynpvisitor47> Abend Betty
00:42:19 <Betty> afternoon Kevin
00:54:47 <ynpvisitor47> I am about half awake today. Went to sleep watching grown men crash expensive cars.
00:55:47 <Betty> just came back from our festival, I´m tired as well
00:58:47 <ynpvisitor47> Thought it was a bit late for you today.
01:00:05 <Betty> relaxing with NCIS before I´m too tired
01:01:49 <ynpvisitor47> Got my model of the Miltenberg town buildings while I was on the good side of the cam. Got it from a place in Canada that ships from Kent Washington. The 2 day parcel too over a week to travel and stay at various locations around the US before they finally sent it to my house 8 days later.
01:02:18 <ynpvisitor47> I guess the new rates are to cover storage and extra travel.
01:03:02 <Betty> at least you got it.
01:04:44 <ynpvisitor52> Kent, WA. I'm sitting in Kent right now.
01:05:27 <Betty> tomorow is the first of 2 fireworks
01:05:51 <ynpvisitor47> Maybe you could go by the post office and tell them that Henderson NV is nowhere near North Houston TX!
01:06:05 <Betty> haha
01:06:09 <ynpvisitor47> Those are fun in Germany BEtty!
01:06:27 <ynpvisitor52> I can try :)
01:06:35 <Betty> I know you liked them
01:09:45 <ynpvisitor47> The buildings are nice (but I knew they would be since they are made in Germany). I also got the pharmacy at Aschaffenburg. Vey neat little building. Maybe they have Natron there?
01:10:53 <Betty> for sure they have. Maybe I can bring some with me in 4 weeks
01:11:03 <Kevin L> Geez, just realized I was a number still!
01:15:26 <Kevin L> What is the festival for Betty?
01:16:42 <Betty> we call it Wiesenmakrt. It´s like Oktoberfest, only a lot smaller.
01:17:13 <Betty> we spoke about it last year
01:18:12 <Betty> it is every year in late july for 10 days
01:18:13 <Kevin L> OK I remember that one.
01:18:39 <Betty> tradition for mor than 200 years
01:20:49 <Kevin L> Those are a lot of fun.
01:22:43 <Betty> It´s only across the street from my home, music until 3 am everyday, and no holiday this time... It´s gonna be a hard week :-p
01:22:51 <Kevin L> Today is the wife's 60th birthday. She is out doing something right now with the daughter.
01:23:16 <Betty> whoo, congrats to her
01:23:23 <Kevin L> That is tough if you are trying to sleep. Those were pretty loud if I remember correctly.
01:23:35 <Betty> yup
01:24:15 <Kevin L> We had lunch at this place that was something about a texan from Brazil but they charged like they were in upper Manhattan.
01:24:46 <Kevin L> Nice bark. Wonder if it is worse than its bite!
01:29:37 <Kevin L> Looks like a thunderstorm warning just east of us today. Had a storm the started a fire on the Cajon Pass in california yesterday and jumped I-15 catching several vehicles. About 20 were burned including 3 big rigs. It was pretty ugly.
01:31:24 <Betty> LC
01:37:57 <Kevin L> Good looking shingles.
01:43:31 <Betty> music is pausing. Time for sleep.
01:44:07 <Kevin L> Good luck!
02:12:44 <ynpvisitor20> Daisy 1812
05:34:38 <ynpvisitor37> I see Aurum finally showed up.
06:07:39 <ynpvisitor37> As the sun slowly sets in the west I bid farewell to the geysers and hot springs of the Upper Geyser Basin......
