08:43:57 <ynpvisitor21> Now THAT is Depression. ie.
09:05:41 <Dave from B> I finally finsihed reading the sput last night. Where is Kitten Geyser in realtion to Lion Group?
09:07:00 <ynpvisitor999> http://geysertimes.org/eruption.php?id=955399

09:08:14 <ynpvisitor999> as for its location from the webcam view, I don't know
09:09:24 <Dave from B> Thanks 999. Isn't that near Roof Geyser that Ryan was talking about the other day?
09:10:02 <ynpvisitor999> it's about 30 feet across the BW from NGG
09:10:38 <Dave from B> Same line of sight but much closer to us (Roof)
09:11:37 <ynpvisitor999> pretty much, yes
09:14:01 <ynpvisitor999> when the webcam was focused on NGG, Kitten appears to be right in front of NGG

09:43:18 <Betty> morning all
09:44:44 <Dave from B> Hi Betty
09:45:00 <Betty> hi Dave from B
09:45:05 <Kevin L™> You are early today. On the train?

09:53:52 <Kevin L™> When does Oktoberfest start Betty?
09:54:23 <Betty> next weekend
09:54:51 <Kevin L™> I will have to see if the cam is working again.
09:55:03 <Betty> 16.9.-3.10
09:55:09 <Dave from B> Betty, how many days in October?:)
09:55:15 <Betty> 3
09:55:56 <Dave from B> Why isn't it called Septemberfest?
09:55:58 <Betty> I will be there th 30th
09:56:37 <Dave from B> Sounds fun
09:57:46 <Kevin L™> This is my favorite Germany cam: http://webtv.feratel.com/webtv/?cam=3007&design=v3&c0=1&lg=en&pg=69812F0A-F47A-406D-B02C-3B3202B8A4BB&s=0
10:06:38 <Kevin L™> First time I went through Munich I took the 8 into town. We got there about 0100 and were a bit drowsy. All of a sudden there was a traffic circle and just past the circle a red light on a road with about 6 inches of rubber where startled motorists screeched to a stop there. We weren't drowsy after that!
10:07:10 <Betty> Dave, the first Oktoberfest 1810 was Oct.17th for a day. They celebrated the wedding of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese 5 days earlier. Years later they decided to start the Oktoberfest 4 weeks earlier, because around the original date there where often the first snowstorms of the year in Munich. And a nice fest needs time, so the last Oktoberfest-Weekend usually is the first weekend in October
10:08:05 <Betty> haha, Kevin. The traffic circle is still there :-)
10:08:10 <Kevin L™> Makes sense.
10:08:28 <Kevin L™> I will never forget the thing!
10:14:40 <Betty> you got mail
10:15:55 <Dave from B> Betty, thanks for the history lesson!:)
10:16:13 <Betty> Oblong?
10:16:27 <Kevin L™> I was wondering.
10:16:47 <Betty> hard to tell
10:16:56 <Eric> Hi Betty and Kevin
10:16:58 <Betty> but must be
10:17:01 <Eric> daisy
10:17:04 <Betty> hi Eric
10:17:16 <Eric> 1016 start
10:17:29 <Betty> wow, I´m lagged
10:18:06 <Eric> it started at the very end of 1016 betty
10:18:56 <Betty> when you posted it it showed up 20 sec later for me
10:19:32 <Eric> Are you RTMP - Live or HLS delayed?
10:19:50 <Kevin L™> Takes time to get across the pond.
10:20:16 <Eric> light travels pretty fast kevin :-)
10:20:57 <Betty> rtmp
10:21:58 <Eric> hmmm, strange that you would be delayed that much in such a short amount of time.
10:22:55 <Kevin L™> They are putting that bier out
10:22:57 <Betty> maybe it was only 15 sec :-p at least time enough to have the eyes on the start
10:23:05 <Betty> shhh
10:23:20 <Kevin L™> Early Betty
10:23:29 <Eric> I love fest beer :-)
10:23:40 <Betty> me too
10:23:48 <Eric> marzen...yummmm
10:24:05 <Betty> no... Märzen
10:24:21 <Eric> I can get about 8 of the german fest beers locally
10:24:45 <Eric> wouldn't mind a 1/4 keg of the paulaner :-)
10:25:23 <Kevin L™> This one was Löwenbräu.
10:25:26 <Betty> Our next trip to US will be to Portland again, a wish of Thomas :-)
10:25:51 <Eric> Nice! We definitely need to connect for dinner :-)
10:26:06 <Betty> yeah, sure!
10:26:28 <Betty> we hope you can show us some of your favourite places
10:26:29 <Eric> and maybe brewery crawl :-P
10:26:48 <Betty> but it will last until 2019, I fear :-(
10:27:08 <Eric> Grotto
10:27:09 <Betty> LC ie
10:27:20 <Eric> It will give you time to prepare your livers
10:28:07 <Betty> HAHA, we are Germans, no need to prepare. We are raised with beer
10:28:59 <Kevin L™> Beer is cheaper there than Coke.
10:29:12 <Eric> As it should be!
10:29:17 <Eric> Coke is bad for you!
10:29:28 <Betty> I fear you are correct, Kevin
10:30:16 <Eric> IMHO, Soda should be taxed higher than beer
10:30:30 <Betty> mostly beer is cheaper than any anti-alcoholic drinks. Brings problems with the younger ones
10:30:58 <Betty> serious, Eric ;-)
10:31:39 <Eric> btw, we say non-alcoholic drink :-)
10:32:25 <Eric> but obviously I totally got what you meant.
10:34:38 <Betty> F&M???
10:35:03 <Eric> am I delayed?
10:35:12 <Eric> Grotto is ie
10:35:35 <Betty> looked more right to me

11:03:31 <Betty> nice
11:11:47 <Kevin L™> Where are the pretzels?
11:26:31 <Betty> OF
11:26:43 <Kevin L™> Big Fluffy
11:28:38 <Jimbo Niobium> On a trip to Fairbanks during September a couple of years ago, I went to an Oktoberfest at the Silver Gulch brewery, American's northernmost brewery.
11:28:49 <Jimbo Niobium> It's too cold in Alaska to have Oktoberfest in October.
11:37:35 <Kevin L™> Can they make pretzels?
11:40:07 <Kevin L™> That was a big splash
11:40:14 <Eric> Kevin needs a pretzel!
11:40:19 <Betty> how does the Natron work?
11:40:42 <Eric> I never got any :-(
11:40:50 <Kevin L™> Haven't had a chance to try it yet.
11:40:57 <Betty> but Kevin did
11:40:59 <Eric> Did you get Natron Kevin?
11:41:09 <Dave from B> coldweather slowdown of BH last night?
11:41:19 <Eric> Jealous!
11:41:19 <Betty> I brought some with me
11:41:21 <Kevin L™> Yes I did, AND some German Chocolate.
11:41:35 <Dave from B> Longest interval since Aug 10
11:41:41 <Kevin L™> Betty and Thomas get a pen too.
11:41:45 <Betty> Dave tried the chocolate too
11:41:55 <Dave from B> Chocolate was great
11:42:37 <Eric> ohh wow...it was a christmas in August :-D
11:43:07 <Betty> bummer you missed it, Eric :-(
11:43:34 <Eric> Yep...life is like that sometimes, but it's awesome you guys all got to connect!
11:43:40 <Kevin L™> It was fun but too short.
11:43:59 <Eric> You guys all looked the same height.
11:44:09 <Eric> :-P
11:44:24 <Kevin L™> Dave was standing on the bench.
11:44:36 <Betty> we made Kevin to stand on a chair
11:45:10 <Kevin L™> :)
11:45:10 <Eric> haha
11:45:29 <Dave from B> Eric, do you have rooms booked for next year?
11:45:36 <Betty> I bowed down a bit to fit in the frame
11:45:38 <Eric> 2 weeks!
11:45:54 <Eric> 1 week at each end of the season!
11:46:16 <Kevin L™> I have a week by the full moon in June.
11:46:18 <Eric> Still trying to figure out logistics of the first week though...daughter is still in school.
11:47:00 <Dave from B> Kevin, what are your June dates?
11:48:31 <Kevin L™> Think they start on the 21st.
11:49:03 <Kevin L™> That is it.
11:49:28 <Kevin L™> It will be my 40th year geyser gazing.
11:49:37 <Eric> wowza
11:49:57 <Betty> that´s awesome, Kevin
11:52:45 <Dave from B> Kevin I may get to see you for a day or two. I'm going the next week I believe
11:53:14 <Dave from B> Next year, own business celebrates its 40th and the 75th year of the smith family in the food business
11:53:45 <Kevin L™> 40th and 75th?
11:53:49 <Betty> when do we need to come, Dave?
11:54:21 <Dave from B> My father was in the food business 35 years before he started this company. Started this business at the age of 51
11:54:45 <Dave from B> Anniversary sale is usually at the end of April
11:55:50 <Eric> I will be there the last week of may
11:58:13 <Kevin L™> My brother may come up for some of the days I am there. He hasn't been there since the road was what is now the bicycle trail.
12:02:05 <ynpvisitor999> F&M event cycle in progress
12:02:44 <Kevin L™> Hope he gets it.
12:09:45 <Kevin L™> "Very short cycle. No Eruption."
12:10:43 <ynpvisitor999> F&M needs some more hours if not days
12:11:36 <Betty> how long is Graham there?
12:12:16 <Kevin L™> I think he leaves this weekend
12:13:07 <ynpvisitor999> by the way, Churn erupted yesterday @ 1835

12:30:56 <Eric> How many vents are on in a regular cycle?
12:33:19 <Eric> Looks like 6 vents total according to TSB
12:34:21 <Eric> Maybe we should call it a F&M Hexcycle :-)
12:36:10 <Eric> or in Latin ***cycle
12:38:25 <ynpvisitor999> looks like the bad word filter kicked into action
12:38:48 <Eric> Yes, it doesn't like latin apprently

13:16:17 <ynpvisitor117> nicer day than expected in the basin today
13:25:02 <ynpvisitor999> SC ie
13:55:55 <Eric> plate!
13:55:56 <Eric> .
13:55:57 <Eric> .
13:56:00 <Eric> nice size too
13:56:48 <Joe> nice
13:57:09 <Eric> thanks camop
13:58:19 <ynpvisitor999> interval of 3h20m
13:58:43 <Eric> good bw crowd too
14:00:33 <ynpvisitor999> geyser left to bench ie
14:01:21 <Betty> Is that Ballcap?
14:01:45 <Eric> no idea...but I see it :-)
14:01:53 <ynpvisitor999> dunno, not familiar with that geyser
14:02:31 <Betty> UNNG-GHG-14, must be this one
14:03:43 <Eric> isn't that the bench at ear spring?
14:04:10 <Betty> no
14:04:17 <Eric> grandd
14:04:18 <Eric> .
14:04:19 <Eric> .
14:04:19 <Eric> .
14:04:20 <Eric> .
14:04:21 <Eric> booom
14:04:59 <Betty> yay
14:05:04 <Betty> still lagged
14:05:14 <Eric> 32 minute interval grand?
14:05:31 <Eric> never seen that before...
14:05:46 <Betty> ??
14:05:55 <ynpvisitor54> means turban i think
14:06:01 <Eric> 32 minutes between last turban to grand
14:06:04 <ynpvisitor54> odd interval if so
14:06:08 <ynpvisitor54> i see...
14:06:20 <Eric> both reports by Jim
14:06:25 <ynpvisitor54> reliable then
14:06:39 <Eric> Yes...camop didn't expect it either :-P
14:06:45 <ynpvisitor999> if it is a 34m interval, then D0/---
14:07:17 <ynpvisitor54> true DG. and a long D0 I'd say.
14:08:20 <Eric> Hard to search for those intervals in GT, but longest I have seen
14:09:30 <ynpvisitor999> the longest Turban-Turban interval I've seen thus far (seen as in the entries), was, if I'm correct, 40 minutes
14:10:18 <ynpvisitor54> 40 is really long. almost could be a double. but if during the on-season, not likely the onsite folks missed one.
14:11:13 <Eric> Well, I don't think you can call it a D0 if Grand goes on it :-)
14:11:58 <Jimbo Niobium> 8 minutes
14:12:46 <ynpvisitor999> just loaded the glossary. Glad the vague sentences explaining D#/ and V#/ have been fixed
14:13:34 <ynpvisitor54> so would this be a D0, or not as Eric posits?
14:13:55 <ynpvisitor999> well, for the most part, as there still is a double 'is an' in the sentence of D#/
14:14:02 <Eric> We are not even sure Turban went...so you have to know that first :-)
14:14:07 <Jimbo Niobium> 10 minutes
14:14:32 <ynpvisitor999> SC steam
14:14:34 <Eric> come on 2nd
14:14:53 <ynpvisitor54> wouldn't it be even more strange than a 34 minute if turban did NOT go?
14:15:07 <ynpvisitor54> we got vent and WT.
14:15:22 <Eric> and rocket
14:15:34 <ynpvisitor999> Grand D0/G1C, 9m47s
14:15:40 <ynpvisitor54> true but not in the grand complex.
14:15:51 <ynpvisitor54> jim called it D0
14:15:57 <Eric> yes, I guess graham still hanging at the rock pile
14:16:11 <Eric> So Turban must have gone
14:16:43 <Eric> or maybe I am reading the meaning of the D series wrong
14:16:55 <ynpvisitor54> probably. wouldn't it be really unusual if not? I know sometimes it doesn't get recorded in the fun.
14:16:59 <Eric> I thought it signified Turban Delay
14:17:22 <Eric> Interesting stuff :-)
14:19:28 <ynpvisitor54> i think D0 means it was longer than the usual 20-22 minutes, as in Turban was delayed. Not that Grand was delayed necessarily.
14:19:33 <Eric> Ok..after re-reading the glossary the D0 designation makes sense.
14:19:37 <ynpvisitor999> The first Turban after an interval that's 25m or greater, is called D0. Every Turban after that, regardless of interval less than 25m or if Grand goes, has D1, D2, D3 and so on. However, every Turban that occurs after Grand ('afterplay'), does not have the designation D4, D5, D20, Dwhatever
14:20:02 <ynpvisitor999> has -> is*
14:20:08 <Eric> Agree 54...I always assumed that the delay was in reference to Grand...but what you said :-)
14:20:23 <ynpvisitor54> yes, I think what I was trying to get at DG. you did it better.
14:22:51 <ynpvisitor999> The same goes for a Vent delay. Vent has to overflow shortly before or when Turban is going, but if Grand does not go, it's a Vent delay and the number of Turban eruptions before Grand eventually goes. This is, however, rare.
14:23:54 <ynpvisitor999> ugh... making sentences is sometimes hard... Vent has to overflow -> If Vent overflows*
14:24:35 <ynpvisitor54> yeah i can't recall the last time I saw that entered.
14:24:36 <ynpvisitor999> anyway, I'm off for today
14:31:30 <ynpvisitor54> just for grins i pulled all the grand records GT would let me (approx 4500 - 3.5 yrs-ish) and only 16 are vent delay.
14:32:02 <Eric> Interesting
14:33:42 <ynpvisitor54> none this year
14:39:56 <ynpvisitor118> So what is the difference in a F&M event and regular cycle?
14:40:30 <Eric> From looking at the entries, it seems regular means all vents are ON
14:40:49 <Eric> but that is my observational conclusion...nothing more.
14:40:57 <Betty> F&M does always cycles, those are regular ones
14:41:22 <Eric> OF ie
14:42:23 <Betty> Event cycles means that there´s additional splashing in Main vent, which could lead to an eruption on the next cycle
14:43:40 <Betty> Important too are long Pauses of River Vent
14:44:26 <Betty> the longer the pause the higher the water levels in Fan
14:45:11 <ynpvisitor118> All too complicated.
14:45:13 <ynpvisitor54> only found 51 vent delays out of just over 31000 grand records in GT. many have NULL or blank that column though, so not definitive at all.
14:45:23 <Betty> but that is what I learned during my visit, much more complexity there
14:45:47 <ynpvisitor118> They just need a little red light when it is ready to go.
14:45:57 <Betty> it is a lot of fun watching it
14:46:16 <Betty> haha, 118, I like the way you think :-)
14:47:35 <Betty> there´s a lot of time after an event cycle call to arrive just in time for an eruption
14:47:48 <Betty> on the next cycle
14:48:27 <Betty> but there´s a possibility that water levels go down again and you have to wait longer
14:53:21 <Eric> Page 124 of TSB described the F&M cycles pretty well.
15:02:46 <ynpvisitor47> Eric: What does TSB stand for?
15:03:17 <Betty> T. Scott Bryan
15:03:32 <ynpvisitor47> Thanks!

15:05:44 <ynpvisitor54> i remember buying the 1st ed at the Norris bookstore/museum in 1979...
15:05:52 <Kevin L™> I have them all. Signed too!

15:07:01 <Kevin L™> Almost posted it as Lion!
15:07:05 <ynpvisitor54> saw that from his posts! :-) looks like he was at thumb for a while.
15:07:19 <Kevin L™> Get a silver Sharpie!
15:07:27 <Eric> For sure...a real fancy one :-D
15:07:27 <ynpvisitor54> i would actually do that...
15:07:53 <Eric> Me too...Kindles are so cheap, having them sign one would be cool.
15:08:27 <Eric> but I have to say, TSB also stood on shoulders of giants to create his book :-)
15:08:48 <Kevin L™> Do any of you have his small book?
15:08:51 <Eric> The gazer community is pretty amazing like that.
15:10:16 <ynpvisitor54> allen, day, marler, white, et al. I include TSB in that pantheon.
15:10:36 <ynpvisitor54> i have different celebrities than most people.
15:10:45 <ynpvisitor54> not than those here of course...

15:13:24 <Kevin L™> Very good for kids and people not familiar with geysers.
15:13:45 <ynpvisitor54> i have seen that one but don't have a copy.
15:14:32 <Kevin L™> Just the pictures are worth the price. I used to give it as a gift to my kids science teachers.
15:15:08 <ynpvisitor54> http://articles.latimes.com/1989-11-06/news/mn-692_1_geyser-gazer
15:15:21 <ynpvisitor54> article mentioning a few gazers, warren and paul included.
15:19:32 <Kevin L™> You may hear the log bench at Grand called the John Railey bench. John was a bit crippled and had a tough time getting around. Not sure if that bench was put there for him, but the gazers would always surrender it to him when he came up.
15:20:32 <ynpvisitor54> I have heard that I think. Is that the one under/near the tree and therefore the only bit of shade?
15:20:45 <Kevin L™> Yep.
15:20:59 <Kevin L™> He was a great man.
15:25:46 <Kevin L™> Looks damp out there
15:31:58 <Dave from B> How was Giantess?
15:32:17 <Betty> awesome
15:32:20 <Kevin L™> It was a minor
15:32:55 <ynpvisitor98> Lion
15:33:24 <Dave from B> A few years ago, I sat at Grand for 40 minutes and the only Turban I saw was when Grand erupted
15:33:46 <Kevin L™> Something smells like latte
15:33:51 <Ryan> Throwing out a request here for suggestions. I am the leader of a group with the rocketry club and the project we took on this year (while doable) is a LOT of work.
15:33:53 <Betty> hi Ryan
15:34:21 <Kevin L™> Make a rocket!
15:34:32 <Ryan> We have lots of promising Sophmores, Freshamn, and Juniors in the group but none of them quite seem to get just how much work needs done. They have frequently left meetings to go do homework, study, etc.
15:34:54 <Ryan> Which is fine, I have no real issue with that except that myself and many others have pulled all nighters doing homework *and* rocket stuff.
15:35:24 <Betty> bubblers!
15:35:29 <Dave from B> Make lots of deadlines they must meet
15:35:32 <Eric> woot
15:35:44 <Ryan> The short version is: this year it is finally too much work for one individual (me) and I have to figure out a polite but firm way of saying that if they cant make their schedules work, or like coffee, then they cant be in the group.
15:35:47 <Eric> Remember it's the journey...not the destination Ryan :-)
15:36:03 <Ryan> Well, Dave, I have tried that. In the end I end up doing a lot of work.
15:36:07 <Kevin L™> Pretty strong bubblers too!
15:36:22 <Ryan> Eric, unfortunately, as engineers, this project *must* be done on time and correctly.
15:36:39 <Eric> Unless they are hindering or making your work harder...just let people contribute how they can.
15:37:04 <Ryan> We cant delay for the sake of delaying. Its to the point where several people I simply cant depend on any more.
15:37:31 <Ryan> We did a design review two weeks ago, I put 45hrs into it and did 99% of the work.
15:37:33 <ynpvisitor118> Is this their project, or yours?
15:37:42 <Eric> Nice article 54...thanks for sharing :-)
15:37:54 <Ryan> Technicallyours, though I am the team lead and its my job to make sure the deadlines are met.
15:38:01 <Ryan> Technically ours*
15:38:18 <Dave from B> Groups are tough...different committment levels for everyone
15:38:33 <Ryan> Context: Rocket motor from scratch. Very big, very complex, motor. From scratch.
15:38:47 <Ryan> Yeah, and its a club, which makes it even harder to enforce commitment :p
15:38:53 <ynpvisitor118> Well you are not going to get the help, so it is yours if you want it done.
15:39:12 <Ryan> *frump*
15:39:43 <ynpvisitor118> Sounds like a time for a meeting and tell them if they are not in, they are out.
15:39:46 <Ryan> Guess I will just have to talk to them tonight and see where everyone stands. They all want to do it, but they dont want to put the work in.
15:40:14 <ynpvisitor118> Then if no one is left, you need to decide if you want to do it.
15:40:44 <Ryan> There are a select few who can and will put the work in. Unfortunately this project is essentially pass fail with the threshold at 99%, if the outcome is 98% we've blown up a motor.
15:41:04 <Ryan> Improbable just had a big surge. Several.
15:41:33 <Dave from B> Ryan, do you have a couple people you can convince to work harder?
15:41:47 <ynpvisitor118> Maybe assign tasks, and make sure they know if one section is not completed then the project stops.
15:42:13 <Eric> Had a buddy working on L3 certification this summer :-)
15:42:29 <Ryan> Yes, and that may be where I need to start. I know what the issue is at a base level: many have not seen a launch or a firing. They dont understand why we put 20-30hrs a week into this thing.
15:42:36 <Kevin L™> Split tasks into teams with a strong member as captain.
15:42:59 <Ryan> The ones who have seen a motor firing/launch and those who haven't are obvious. We have 6 people on this team so splitting into groups is difficult.
15:43:06 <Ryan> We already are the sub group :p
15:43:43 <ynpvisitor118> Failure is a acceptable outcome.
15:44:04 <Kevin L™> Yep, that is small. May not hurt to go do a smaller launch. Give them an idea of what it is.
15:44:04 <Ryan> Not for us. We fail, we lose funding, the club stops. Best case scenario.
15:44:21 <ynpvisitor118> It is still an option.
15:44:28 <Ryan> Worst case scenario someone gets hurt or killed. This is a *big* motor.
15:45:04 <Kevin L™> I have been around an explosion involving AP. I can relate!
15:45:09 <Ryan> Kevin - I have advocated for a very early motor firing (K-L sized) asap for new people to get a feel for the rumble tumble of a firing.
15:45:27 <Ryan> Oh yeah, you were there for PepCON... *shudders*
15:45:53 <Kevin L™> My house was about 2 miles away.
15:45:59 <ynpvisitor118> It is not a club, if you do all the work.
15:46:11 <Ryan> So your house had no more windows, Kevin?
15:46:56 <Ryan> Well it is and it isnt. We have 20 people total with 6 of us dedicated to the motor only. So then it would be 14 of us with 1 on the motor and thats just way too much work for me for my senior year. I want to do it, I love it, but I simply am unable to.
15:47:14 <Kevin L™> Luckily I had a friend with a glass company. He had a crate shipped to my house and did much of the neighborhood from my place.
15:47:57 <ynpvisitor118> You could talk to the 6, then if they do not step up talk to the 14. See if you can get some help.
15:48:01 <Ryan> Note for the future, kiddos: dont store something that burns aluminum.... in aluminum crates.
15:48:18 <Ryan> Otherwise you make a 3.6 magnitude earthquake and kill two people :(
15:48:18 <Kevin L™> You could tell where my dog was and went. There was a trail of poo.
15:48:39 <ynpvisitor118> Sounds like good prep for real life.
15:49:29 <Ryan> Yeah, it really is. Its one of the best programs at WVU. Course I am biased since I started it in 2013.
15:49:29 <Kevin L™> There was still lots of AP recovered from the site. The big issue was a natural gas leak.
15:50:30 <Dave from B> 118, I like your idea. Ryan, can you borrow a couple of the 14?
15:51:00 <Eric> What size motor do you guys build Ryan?
15:51:05 <Ryan> O
15:51:14 <Kevin L™> Goes into orbit Eric!
15:51:28 <Eric> Nice....so you are L3 certified then.
15:51:31 <Ryan> 6in diameter, 45in long, 45lbs of propellant, and a 70lb launch weight. Just the motor.
15:51:46 <Eric> That is large :-)
15:51:55 <Ryan> Not officially, someone else in the club is. Every time I have had the $1000 and time to do my L3 I spent it on caves and photographs.
15:52:07 <Eric> haha
15:52:20 <Ryan> I am officially L2.
15:53:15 <Eric> So you guys are building the largest beast you can with L3 certs...very nice. Any goals other than to make it fly?
15:53:33 <Ryan> Its for a competition.
15:54:00 <Eric> What is the deciding factor if you win? height?
15:54:03 <Ryan> Sending the rocket (which we have flown to 10,000ft four times now on an N motor) to 33,000ft. Motor is like 39,500N-S or something. Almost a P motor
15:54:16 <Ryan> Yeah, height, along with general performance
15:54:50 <ynpvisitor118> Into orbit? You selling the plans to the North Koreans?
15:55:02 <Ryan> They wouldn't pay enough.
15:55:15 <Ryan> Their last launch answers whether or not we helped them. :)
15:55:26 <Betty> enjoy BH, I´m out for today
15:55:27 <Eric> mmm, kim chee for rocket swap :-P
15:55:33 <Eric> night betty
15:55:33 <Ryan> Not orbit, haha. Thats a whole other galaxy of problems.
15:55:36 <Ryan> Adios, Betty
15:55:53 <ynpvisitor118> Well BH missed a good lunch. Enjoy it and people watching.
15:57:36 <Dave from B> At least the bubblers are going
15:58:24 <Ryan> SC 1558ns
16:02:21 <Kevin L™> Not sure we will see BH when it goes if this continues.
16:02:50 <Eric> getting ugly
16:03:04 <Dave from B> It's still 50...no white bugs yet
16:04:01 <Kevin L™> ¾" of rain in the last 24 hours.
16:04:23 <Eric> Maybe tomorrow morning you will see some
16:04:51 <Dave from B> I do expect whitemess on the cam tomorrow
16:05:43 <Dave from B> Loe between 39-43 tonight in Blgs at 3000'
16:05:47 <Dave from B> Low*
16:06:31 <Kevin L™> Low tonight about 40°.
16:07:08 <Kevin L™> Showing snow tomorrow about 1500.
16:15:24 <Eric> OF
16:16:10 <Kevin L™> What a curtain!
16:16:48 <Kevin L™> I was sure hoping with all this rain we would get an Aurum today.
16:19:00 <Dave from B> Even if you get an Aurum you won't see much in this
16:19:23 <Kevin L™> I will know it isn't dead.
16:19:52 <Eric> It goes when you aren't watching Kevin
16:19:58 <Eric> It's not dead
16:23:53 <Dave from B> Aurum is resting for Winter mode
16:28:05 <Kevin L™> Looks like snow all day Saturday
16:28:23 <Kevin L™> Nice sendoff for Graham.
16:29:42 <Dave from B> Lots of short river pauses today. Hopefully, F&M will cooperate tomorrow
16:39:24 <Eric> f&m?
16:40:27 <Eric> hmmm, that steam is really far left
16:40:31 <Eric> for riverside
16:41:01 <Eric> but, you cannot fake timing on riverside :-D
16:43:51 <Dave from B> Have a nice evening Eric, Kevin. Time to go work in the market. Time to sell some soup!
16:44:18 <Kevin L™> Halibut soup?
16:47:24 <Dave from B> NE Clam Chowder, Manhattan Clam Chowder, Shrimp & Corn Chowder, Crab Bisque, Lobster Bisque
16:50:14 <ynpvisitor84> wonder if cam was zoomed in on UNNG-GHG-14 at 1400.
16:52:06 <ynpvisitor84> interesting, first eruption caught on webcam.
17:02:59 <Eric> Cam was zoomed
17:05:52 <ynpvisitor84> I want to look at the capture, never seen that one on the cam.
17:06:29 <Kevin L™> I have seen it before. Shows up when you zoom in on Plate.
17:06:35 <Eric> We have seen UNNG-GHG-14 many times on the cam I believe...not sure why it hasn't been recorded in GT
17:07:00 <Eric> is that artemesia?
17:07:16 <Eric> seems to far right for grotto
17:07:54 <Eric> artemisia
17:08:54 <Eric> I thought we actually spotted that sput last spring before it had a designation
17:10:04 <ynpvisitor95> so is that Oblong?
17:10:09 <Eric> I assume so
17:20:50 <Eric> Guess I was right...Artemisia
17:55:10 <Eric> OF
17:55:26 <Eric> Wow...a lot of green predictions right now
17:55:45 <Eric> Lion, BH, Daisy & Castle in window
17:58:14 <Kevin L™> Speaking of Daisy
18:20:41 <Michael> And speaking of castle...
18:20:43 <kcmule> nice castle
18:32:12 <ynpvisitor79> I was thinking BH. Have about half an hour so it better go quick
18:32:37 <ynpvisitor59> Now we need to speak of BH
18:33:43 <ynpvisitor79> I think the bubblers are going past Dave's 90 minutes.
18:50:36 <kcmule> aurum
18:50:41 <ynpvisitor19> aurm
18:51:03 <Michael> Long time, no see!
18:52:31 <ynpvisitor59> Kevin out with the chickens?
18:53:34 <Michael> And before OF could hide it, too.
19:04:18 <Michael> We got one of Beehive's indicators going. That's a start, right?
19:08:53 <ynpvisitor79> It has been on for quit is while.
19:09:36 <ynpvisitor79> BH missed out on me seeing it.
19:10:09 <Michael> Sorry to hear that.
19:23:24 <Michael> That's a whole lot of bubbling!
19:23:26 <ynpvisitor19> That is something I haven't seen in a while
19:24:15 <ynpvisitor19> .
19:24:16 <ynpvisitor19> .
19:24:16 <ynpvisitor19> .
19:24:17 <ynpvisitor19> .

19:24:20 <ynpvisitor19> bhi
19:25:14 <ynpvisitor64> yeah, Graham will get BH before dark
19:25:30 <ynpvisitor95> finally
19:26:20 <ynpvisitor95> was south bubbler active tonight?
19:27:14 <ynpvisitor64> I wonder why the NPS has Great Fountain at 0800 for next prediction? That is way off
19:28:25 <ynpvisitor95> when was last Gr. Ftn?
19:28:33 <ynpvisitor64> 1635
19:28:46 <ynpvisitor64> the GT prediction is correct
19:28:50 <ynpvisitor95> hmm
19:30:34 <ynpvisitor64> maybe they meant to post it for Castle
19:31:24 <ynpvisitor64> BH
19:35:06 <ynpvisitor95> Looks as wet there as in Worland
19:36:14 <ynpvisitor95> nice Beehive viewed from inside a dry home

19:37:33 <ynpvisitor64> night
19:37:47 <Michael> Good night.
