05:49:04 <ynpvisitor42> Mars launch!
05:54:17 <ynpvisitor110> 4.2 earthquake California, 1 mile from San fernando. 7:29 am
06:01:33 <ynpvisitor7> Are you predicting the future?
06:09:50 <JarnoO> that's a big ol' plume there. Grand maybe?
06:09:57 <ynpvisitor91> #110 is probably an east coaster, quoting history
06:10:29 <JarnoO> 4.2 about an hour ago:
06:21:35 <KorbenC> Happy SB day
06:27:53 <KorbenC> my average prediction was only 5 hours off, not too bad. Temp predict (recently the most accurate) was only 31 minutes off
06:32:53 <KorbenC> Jarno, hi, and have yo useen the forecast shift of Isaias
06:34:11 <KorbenC> Hi Ryan
06:34:13 <Ryan> JO/KC, don't ever get a girlfriend (or boyfriend(
06:34:26 <Ryan> y'all do too much other stuff for relationships :D
06:34:29 <KorbenC> how appropriate that #109 was at 0109 per E
06:34:37 <KorbenC> hahahaha
06:35:16 <KorbenC> I wasnt planning on getting one currently, maybe college or something.
06:35:38 <Ryan> not sure one ever really plans on it.
06:35:42 <Ryan> just kind of happens
06:37:14 <KorbenC> Ryan, do you want this one?
06:37:45 <Ryan> if i take it you wont see data for an hour lol
06:37:59 <KorbenC> haha
06:45:06 <ynpvisitor91> Quick make up a song about Steamboat 109 to the tune of the Beach Boys 409 :)
06:46:59 <Ryan> Now I have Good Vibrations stuck in my head
06:47:19 <KorbenC> "Shes real annoying, my 109, Shes real annoying, my 109. My 109. Well I saved my anger and I saved my time. (Go again, go again Mrs. 109) For I never knew SB be would be so predictable but still such an FB" When I would buy a new car and it would get slimed!
06:47:23 <KorbenC> Ryan, SAME
06:47:46 <KorbenC>
06:50:13 <Ryan> I love the billowing steam you bray... and the way the sunlight plays upon your spray...
06:50:59 <KorbenC> What can I say, Coopers are not good at Music, me singing sounds like nails on a chalk board
06:51:54 <Ryan> Iiiii... hear the sound of a rumbling shove... from the vents into the blue skies up above...
06:53:03 <Ryan> I'm pickin' up good vibrations, North's giving me excitations. I'm picking up good vibrations, were shoutin' our exaltations..
06:53:26 <KorbenC> I am amazed, lol.
06:54:50 <Ryan> Close your eyes, it's somehow louder now... all the rocks and rain they fall and crash abou'.
06:56:17 <Ryan> Iiiii hear the sound of choking plume... with a great restart its like a sonic boom...
06:57:05 <Ryan> I picking up good vibrations, South's giving me excitations... I'm picking up good vibrations, were screaming those exaltations!
06:57:57 <Ryan> Exci... tations! I don't where but she sends me there...
06:59:59 <Ryan> (softly)... gotta keep those, rumbling, vibrations, they're coming from earth... goooota keep those roaring, vibrations, its happening right now..
07:00:19 <Ryan> (fades into instrumental).... AHHHHHHH! GOOD GOOD GOOD VIBRATIONS!! (fades out)
07:01:05 <ynpvisitor91> clap, clap, clap :)
07:01:12 <JarnoO> morning Kat
07:01:26 <Kat> Hi Jarno
07:02:02 <KorbenC> Hi Kat
07:02:05 <KorbenC> Hi Jarno
07:02:19 <KorbenC> Ryan, spectacular! ;)
07:02:35 <Kat> Hey Korben
07:08:17 <JarnoO> FYI: The Constant logger isn't showing signs of increased organization of Whirligig yet (once the 7d graph updates), though spikes over 55Ā°C might lead you to think otherwise.
07:09:09 <KorbenC> but those large spikes dont show increased organization?
07:10:05 <Ryan> no
07:11:37 <JarnoO> no. the logger logs at 2m intervals with spikes only 1 data point wide (or 2 if you're lucky). During increased organization (which seems to be during the last few disturbances), those spikes tend to be at least 2 data points wide, up to 4 on rare occasions
07:12:05 <Ryan> They become actual minors
07:12:08 <Ryan> Not just pushes
07:12:49 <Ryan> barring reports from the basin I think the probe got moved in the rain storm
07:13:10 <JarnoO> exactly my thinking
07:14:10 <JarnoO> it actually seems to be in a much better spot for Whirligig in my opinion
07:14:16 <KorbenC> so, does Whirligig normaly have minors?
07:14:33 <Ryan> it can
07:14:41 <Ryan> they seem to be more frequent lately
07:14:57 <KorbenC> because I saw what was definitly a minor while I was at Constant, and I never saw it on the logger that evening, even though I could see the water come over the logger :)
07:15:00 <Ryan> They act like normal eruptions, the rooster tail starts up and then after about 30-45s they just stop.
07:15:35 <Ryan> The pool drops slightly, hits overflow again, and it can have another one about an hour later if I remember right.
07:15:56 <KorbenC> I saw that, except only 25 seconds, and then there was one where there was just a huge bubble in the pool that was maybe 5 or 6 feet high that lasted less than a second (what would that be)?
07:16:16 <Ryan> A very large push
07:16:25 <KorbenC> and I am sure I am not confusing Constant for Whirligig :)
07:16:29 <Ryan> Did the rooster tail start up?
07:16:41 <JarnoO> those spikes on the logger suggest they can happen pretty much at the frequency of Constant's pushes (not to say they're connected some way or another)
07:17:22 <KorbenC> Ryan, yes.
07:17:56 <Ryan> Probably a minor
07:18:07 <KorbenC> so minor can last less than a second?
07:18:20 <Ryan> but keep in mind that the logger updates every 2 minutes. You could totally miss the eruption
07:18:34 <Ryan> The eruption begins when the rooster tail starts up
07:18:49 <KorbenC> They started in unison, lasted a second, and gone.
07:19:15 <KorbenC> I will say though, Constant was extremely predictable, 5 minues and 23 seconds after overflow to eruption +/- about 5 seconds.
07:19:32 <JarnoO> huge bubble in the pool lead me to think that was the main vent doing something
07:20:36 <Ryan> I thought you said 25 seconds or so?
07:21:25 <KorbenC> no, the 1st minor was 25s
07:21:59 <Ryan> Oh so you later saw a single burst from the pool?
07:22:06 <Ryan> Youd have to ask someone like MA about that.
07:22:16 <KorbenC> the second thing was just Rooster Tail and Pool have a second of really strong eruption, big burst in the pool to 6ft, and really strong jetting from rooster tail for not even a second.
07:22:47 <KorbenC> We were watching constant and saw it and we got "jump scared" by it :P
07:23:13 <Ryan> I would ask MA about that
07:23:25 <KorbenC> I have an image of the minor, but the other thing was way to fast for me to capture
07:24:05 <JarnoO> MA is definitely the more experienced person among us when it comes down to things like that in Norris (or at least more experienced than me :P)
07:24:14 <KorbenC> JarnoO, haha
07:25:00 <KorbenC> I did see a few Vixen majors though :)
07:27:15 <JarnoO> Steamboat had an eruption about 48h after first water reached the logger probe
07:28:13 <JarnoO> first detectable warmer-than-ambient water*
07:28:27 <JarnoO> (does that cover it? :))
07:30:47 <JarnoO> morning Forest
07:30:55 <Forestbewithyou> hey hey
07:30:59 <KorbenC> Hi Forest, happy SB day.
07:31:05 <JarnoO> Mug
07:31:24 <Forestbewithyou> Thank You and Happy Steamboat day to you too
07:31:39 <Ryan> Today is an extremely sad day for our republic.
07:31:54 <Ryan> POTUS tweet is angering, and extremely disheartening.
07:32:21 <KorbenC> the Kate Brown one?
07:32:25 <Ryan> I don't really care if you 'dont wanna hear about politics' here.
07:32:32 <Ryan> No, the one about delaying the elction.
07:32:55 <Ryan> POTUS called for delaying the 2020 election because of supposed mail-in voting fraud.
07:33:03 <KorbenC> hahahaha, that would be a supreme court case thats for certain
07:33:31 <Ryan> That the President of the United States even uttered those words is enough for me to be disgusted.
07:33:43 <Kat> OT
07:33:49 <Ryan> Nevermind its not practical...
07:34:52 <Ryan> Also we hit 150,000 COVID deaths
07:34:55 <JarnoO> *refrains from commenting*
07:35:32 <Ryan> There is nothing to comment. It is just sad.
07:36:19 <Ryan> JO, I am glad you're here and seeing this commentary.
07:36:31 <KorbenC> Jarno, I assume you think our president is an idiot? :p
07:36:31 <Ryan> I tire of apologizing to my foreign friends for this country.
07:36:41 <KorbenC> It is always good to have a foreign opinion
07:56:16 <Kat> Launch was awesome this morning, early AM sun awful for pics - the rumble and sound was was felt strongly at my house. Now on to storm prep!
07:56:48 <Forestbewithyou> that sounds super cool
07:56:56 <Forestbewithyou> not the storm prep part
07:57:04 <KorbenC> Kat, hopefully the storm gets steered north away from you
07:57:54 <Kat> Coming up East along coast it appears!
07:58:12 <KorbenC> they keep switching the forecast from West to East coast Florida
07:58:31 <ynpvisitor107> Kat, glad you experienced the launch, I'm envious
07:58:37 <KorbenC> But I dont think it can go north, High pressure is whats preventing it from being a major hurricane right now, so thats good,
07:58:55 <Kat> Thats why I'm still waiting to make a destination plan if I need to go
07:59:28 <KorbenC> Kat, if it does become a hurricane, it will stay Cat 1, which is survivable, main threat as always is rain
08:00:01 <Kat> I'm about 1.5 miles from Indian River - but all low ground and in flood zone.
08:01:07 <KorbenC> Kat, if you stay, take a video for me :)
08:01:23 <Forestbewithyou> and me :)
08:01:27 <KorbenC> Jarno, you wanna have this one?
08:01:32 <JarnoO> sure
08:01:48 <Kat> KorbenC, OK
08:03:41 <KorbenC> I am off for a little bit, adios.
08:03:56 <Forestbewithyou> bye
08:11:21 <Kat> Bad wind direction
08:25:37 <LindaG> Dont send that storm to jersey!
08:25:55 <LindaG> Good morning
08:25:56 <ynpvisitor93> Less than 6 days behind SB record pace of last year...starting to gain some ground
08:26:22 <LindaG> Kat, hi
08:27:07 <KorbenC> Hi Linda
08:27:20 <LindaG> KorbenC, hi
08:28:13 <Kat> Hi Londa
08:28:25 <KorbenC> Kat, are you imitatign me? :P
08:28:42 <LindaG> Its contagious
08:28:45 <Kat> Linda* it's projected to come up the coast!
08:28:47 <LindaG> Kat, hi
08:29:02 <Kat> Yes on the imitation haha
08:29:08 <KorbenC> LindaG, the odds of it hitting you are this point are about 25% :(
08:29:14 <LindaG> Kat, šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹
08:29:23 <KorbenC> Kat, OI! :P
08:29:30 <LindaG> What's its name?
08:29:46 <Kat> I'm stuck on the weather deciding what to do!
08:29:51 <KorbenC> Isaias
08:30:05 <LindaG> I've been avoiding news
08:30:11 <LindaG> KorbenC, thx
08:30:13 <KorbenC> But you have to prnounce it the hard spanish way, -Easy- ahhh- see
08:30:21 <Kat> TS Isaias
08:30:34 <Katie> Hi all - signging in
08:30:44 <JarnoO> that name hard to pronounce? Don't make me laugh, Korben :)
08:30:49 <Forestbewithyou> I was watching a meteorologist trying to pronounce it. It was pretty funny
08:30:52 <Kat> Hi Katie - cam released
08:30:55 <LindaG> Katie, hi
08:30:59 <JarnoO> how about Ciara?
08:31:06 <KorbenC> Linda
08:32:28 <LindaG> What happened to naming them George or Alex lol
08:32:37 <KorbenC> haha

08:32:46 <Forestbewithyou> lol
08:33:04 <LindaG> Kat, šŸ˜
08:33:06 <KorbenC> Kat, lmao
08:33:07 <JarnoO> either another naming list or retired forever because of the damage done
08:33:52 <KorbenC> I am still waiting for Korben too come up :)
08:34:01 <Kat> Hush on the damage Jarno
08:36:51 <LindaG> If it breaks heat wave I'm up for some rain
08:37:39 <LindaG> So just another SB I see
08:38:04 <Kat> Me too but not thw wind!
08:38:24 <LindaG> Kat, I hear ya
08:39:07 <Kat> Winds on this storm are about 415 miles out from the center
08:39:12 <KorbenC> everytime I plan to go climb a mountain some storm is going to make landfall that day.
08:39:31 <JarnoO> gotta stop climbing mountain, Korben
08:39:31 <Kat> Linda you're in the cone
08:39:37 <KorbenC> luckly winds are more north of the center
08:39:48 <Kat> KorbenC, Yes
08:39:56 <LindaG> Been here going on 11 yrs, had two hurricanes, but sandy was one of them
08:40:15 <LindaG> Kat, the cone of silence ? Lol
08:40:35 <Kat> Exactly
08:40:50 <KorbenC> The wind speeds in one spot are 592.55 miles accross, thats big
08:41:22 <Kat> Wow - Herman Cain just died of coronavirus!
08:41:54 <ynpvisitor107> whoa
08:41:56 <Ryan> What!?
08:41:57 <Kat> I think no matter where you are in FL - you will feel this one
08:42:11 <KorbenC> who is Herman Cain?
08:42:20 <Kat> Cain last seen at Tulsa rally
08:42:45 <LindaG> KorbenC, he ran for president last time
08:43:02 <LindaG> He died?
08:43:02 <Kat> 2012 Pres. candidate and CEO of Godfather's pizza
08:43:10 <LindaG> Oh wow
08:43:25 <LindaG> He was on oxygen yesterday
08:43:31 <JarnoO> what do y'all have with CEOs running for president?
08:43:47 <Forestbewithyou> no idea LOL
08:43:49 <LindaG> JarnoO, not my idea lol
08:44:16 <LindaG> Bru he was working for the president
08:44:23 <Ryan> it real yet?
08:44:35 <Ryan> *Is it real yet*
08:44:44 <LindaG> Ryan, it was real 6 most ago
08:44:45 <Ryan> Is COVID real enough yet?
08:44:45 <Kat> Bad business - that's all I'm sayin'
08:44:47 <Ryan> Probably not.
08:45:04 <LindaG> *months
08:45:39 <KorbenC> JarnoO, we are americans :)
08:46:24 <Eric> Morning all
08:46:30 <Kat> It's real in FL
08:46:31 <Eric> Nice SB trace this morning
08:46:31 <JarnoO> morning Eric
08:46:38 <Kat> Hi Eric
08:46:52 <Eric> or is that SB?
08:47:02 <Eric> Looks bigger on YNR then YNM
08:47:04 <ynpvisitor115> Daisy is about to erupt
08:47:27 <Ryan> It was a fake news eruption
08:47:46 <Eric> ohh, we had in basin observers...nice
08:48:09 <KorbenC> my possible routs this weekend,
08:48:17 <KorbenC>
08:48:47 <Eric> enjoy
08:50:28 <Eric> Hit Grays too since you are up there.
08:50:34 <Eric> not that much further
08:51:11 <KorbenC> I have done those sets of mountains twice before, they are always a nice easy hike.
08:52:07 <KorbenC> They are not my favorite hike though, I love Huron, mainly because there is a camping spot at the bottom with a pond filled with big Brookies.
08:54:55 <KorbenC> Eric, this is the one 14er my dad hasnt done, lol. you should come do it, hahahahahaha.
08:55:10 <Eric>
08:56:59 <Eric> Nope, gonna pass Coop:
08:57:13 <KorbenC> haha, yup :P
08:57:30 <Eric> Class 4 is beyond my skill set
08:57:58 <KorbenC> this should be your first 14er in CO, nice, long, super easy.
08:57:59 <Eric> Even class 3 can take me out of my comfort zone.
08:58:17 <KorbenC> I mean, its only 24 miles :P
08:59:08 <Eric> Those climbs just don't look fun to me
08:59:19 <Eric> lot of loose rock scramble...bleh
08:59:27 <KorbenC> why not, if you climb that route you get a free donut :)
08:59:42 <KorbenC> that route doesnt have really any rock scrambling actually
08:59:47 <Eric> I prefer glaciers and boulders.
09:00:05 <LindaG> Well going birding while I can. Enjoy.
09:00:13 <Eric> Your busted up old mountains don't seem appealing :-P
09:00:13 <KorbenC> Bye Linda
09:00:14 <Forestbewithyou> Bye Linda
09:00:20 <KorbenC> Eric, hahaha.
09:00:23 <Eric> Bye Linda, enjoy the birds.
09:00:31 <Eric> I like young mountains :-D
09:01:01 <KorbenC> you can hike up and ski down
09:01:06 <Eric> I would actually like to do some more hiking in Montana...they have some cool geology.
09:02:27 <Eric> We have a ton of skimo here, can't climb a mountain without snowboards and skis on peoples backs.
09:10:52 <KorbenC> Hi SF, why are you in AZ?
09:11:21 <SantaFe108 in A> Going to Ohio, stopping at family :)
09:11:41 <ynpvisitor79> Ugh. LONG trip.
09:14:15 <SantaFe108 in A> Then I'm taking the Chief back from Chicago
09:18:00 <Eric> foggy in West, yet sunny in UGB
09:18:24 <Katie> Looks fairly humid, though. I haven't actually looked...
09:18:49 <Katie> And I don't think the weather widget is correct. Humid, yes. 100% - not in the UGB
09:18:52 <Eric> 100% humidity in UGB
09:19:02 <Eric> really hard to tell
09:19:14 <Eric> not sure humidity can be gauged visually
09:20:25 <Katie> To a certain extent it can. If it's foggy, it's humid. If the steam from geysers doesn't dissipate as much as it usually does at the same temp, it's humid.
09:21:07 <SantaFe108 in A> SB went off last night?
09:21:08 <Eric> that seems to make sense
09:21:19 <KorbenC> SantaFe108 in Arizona, yes
09:21:20 <Eric> That is the rumor SF
09:21:52 <JarnoO> time to make dinner
09:27:07 <ynpvisitor115> BTW, Daisy
09:49:34 <KorbenC> OF late ie
09:51:23 <Ryan (lunch)> Eric. Glitter bombs!
09:53:17 <Eric> You terrorist :-P
09:53:18 <KorbenC> Ryan (lunch), Glitter bomb in the capital, sounds like the Hunger Games
09:54:07 <KorbenC> Hi Kevin
09:54:16 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Hi
09:57:15 <Ryan (lunch)> GLITTER BOOOOOMMMBBBSSD
09:57:39 <Eric> Just don't glitter bomb in nature...that shit is hard to cleanup.
09:57:50 <KorbenC> Ryan (lunch), are you OK?
09:58:23 <KorbenC> Ryan (lunch), youcould send this to the capital,
09:58:50 <Eric> So anyone receive chinese seeds? I am planting mine to see if I get a beanstalk!
09:59:12 <Eric> I sent them 2 cows in thanks.
09:59:15 <KorbenC> Eric, we havent gotten any
09:59:32 <Eric> Mom got all pissy about giving away the cows.
10:00:26 <Katie> If it grows into Audrey II, please be selective about who's blood you feed it.
10:00:34 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Perry Mason music. Time to drive.
10:00:51 <Katie> Happy Driving!
10:01:10 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> I have my NoDoz.
10:06:14 <Eric> Ohh, didn't even think about that Katie!
10:06:24 <Eric> Pump!
10:17:26 <ynpvisitor86> just realized that the last 2 eruptions fell on the same days last year
10:17:59 <ynpvisitor86> of Steamboat
10:18:03 <Ryan> Oh ueah. This day last year had a disturbance.
10:18:15 <Eric> utttohhh
10:19:05 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Always with the negative waves....
10:24:37 <ynpvisitor97> Kevin, love the Kelly's Heroes reference.
10:41:38 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Lot of splashing there
10:42:05 <Eric> 3c is nice and tall today
10:42:26 <ynpvisitor86> Eric, why do you hate short?
10:44:13 <Eric> did perseverence launch this morning?
10:44:26 <Eric> short == weak
10:44:45 <Eric> :-P
10:45:37 <KorbenC> WOW!
10:46:33 <KorbenC> 6 minute mug interval
10:47:03 <Eric> Cool...finally found the details...perserverence is up and out and doing well!
10:47:07 <ynpvisitor86> whoa, that was an interesting eruption
10:47:17 <Eric> Not sure why that isn't huge news!
10:47:36 <ynpvisitor86> Eric, wasn;t tweet-worthy
10:48:23 <Eric> Nice looking mug
10:48:34 <Eric> if that was mug, weird angle
10:49:20 <KorbenC> that was mug
10:49:34 <Eric> So many cool things on the mars mission: The Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment (MOXIE) is a technology demonstration that will produce oxygen from Martian atmospheric carbon dioxide.
10:49:55 <Eric> Plus a quadcopter that will fly around Mars hopefully.
10:50:57 <Eric>
10:58:17 <Ryan> steam shadows make me think BSB is going
11:00:29 <KorbenC> Mug
11:00:31 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Wow!
11:00:43 <KorbenC> that was another super big angled one
11:02:37 <Forestbewithyou> LOL Ryan
11:04:40 <Ryan> That was impressive
11:05:56 <Eric> Yep, nice eruption @ 11:00:22
11:08:18 <ynpvisitor86> every day is a new day at mugwump
11:08:37 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Been impressive this week
11:08:41 <I Can Tellurium> Just realized that's all elements (didn't plan it): Iodine Calcium Nitrogen Tellurium
11:09:03 <ynpvisitor86> maybe mug misses me
11:09:18 <Forestbewithyou> Thats really funny
11:26:57 <KorbenC> Kevin, cna we zoom on Grocket?
11:27:41 <KorbenC> Rocket
11:27:52 <KorbenC> I saw water over the tree
11:31:19 <JarnoO> is Mugwump imitating Daisy at this point?
11:31:34 <KorbenC> lol
11:31:59 <KorbenC> Grotto isnt dead from Rocket quite yet!
11:32:51 <JarnoO> Grotto tends to go on for about 15 to 30 minutes after Rocket before it quits. On other occasions it just keeps going until it quits by itself
11:34:20 <JarnoO> one that comes to mind is Grotto's 1354 eruption on June 26. Rocket started @ 1426 and went on for 14Ā½ minutes. Grotto kept going until it quit by itself @ 1631
11:35:15 <JarnoO> very fun to watch that Rocket just keep on going. Definitely an unexpected bonus that day :)
11:36:07 <KorbenC> I love Rocket, esspecialy in person because of all those preplay splashes to the maj, and how Grotto become mroe steam propelled during it
11:40:19 <Forestbewithyou> totally Korben.
11:40:50 <KorbenC> Arty
11:41:16 <JarnoO> looks like Isaias' predicted track will take it near the Florida east coast at 60kt: and
11:41:43 <JarnoO> with some models suggesting hurricane speeds
11:41:58 <JarnoO> also, Cape Verde invest now 50/50, up from 20/20 6 hours ago
11:42:01 <KorbenC> +Plus Cape Verde invest is 50/50
11:42:10 <KorbenC> Haha, we went the same place
11:42:17 <Forestbewithyou> LOL
11:43:07 <KorbenC> Pacific Short Lived invest 20/20
11:43:28 <JarnoO> hm, I believe that's 10% up from last advisory
11:43:47 <JarnoO> or was that yesterday?
11:43:58 <KorbenC> totaly different invest

12:11:26 <Forestbewithyou> Hi Betty
12:11:57 <Betty> evening JarnoO, hi KorbenC, Forestbewithyou, all others
12:23:31 <Eric> Hi BEtty
12:23:46 <Betty> hi Eric
12:24:27 <Eric> Right in the sweet spot for Grand!
12:32:57 <KorbenC> Turbam
12:33:01 <KorbenC> Turban*
12:33:07 <JarnoO> do you want a bomb with that?
12:33:15 <Ryan(-35)> It could be Tarbam
12:33:17 <KorbenC> haha
12:33:25 <Ryan(-35)> Turbam. That used to be a nick name for it.
12:33:40 <Ryan(-35)> Sometimes its just Turban. Sometimes its Tur-BAM!
12:36:54 <JarnoO> 3C
12:36:55 <JarnoO> ie
12:37:20 <KorbenC> might have mug in about 2 minutes now
12:38:16 <KorbenC> JarnoO, you want this OF?
12:38:29 <JarnoO> sure
12:38:52 <JarnoO> nice burst there

12:58:57 <Betty> Castle ie
13:07:09 <KorbenC> Grand
13:07:23 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> You wonder how many more there are Betty. To think we were walking all over that place and not knowing. I do remember them finding one at Fliegerhorst when I was there.
13:09:00 <Betty> they did that today
13:09:37 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> I think that is the third one you have told me about in a year.
13:10:02 <Betty> yes, at least
13:10:04 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> BTW I was released from active duty 43 years ago yesterday.
13:10:17 <Eric> That is amazing Betty
13:11:25 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> The building they have in the picture is where we got money for our pay.
13:13:29 <Eric> It doesn't seem so much as defusing the bomb as picking it up with a backhoe and loading it into a truck :-P
13:13:33 <Eric> 2nd?
13:14:08 <Eric> guess, not...just stall and burst mode
13:14:22 <Eric> people walking aways!?!?!
13:14:36 <Eric> Guess they have to get back for the next OF
13:16:29 <StaceyM> Or going to check out Castle
13:16:53 <Eric> Crazy people!
13:17:05 <Eric> what a nice day to sit and watch grand.
13:17:18 <Eric> 11m
13:17:32 <Betty> sigh
13:17:50 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> I don't think we get a 2nd.
13:18:01 <Eric> nope...probably one and done
13:18:17 <Eric> lunch time for me! enjoy the nap this afternoon :-P
13:18:38 <Eric> maybe an early BH
13:18:40 <Eric> castle ie
13:20:13 <Betty> major
13:20:57 <ynpvisitor114> I have a question about Beehive. I've been away from watching the cam for quite a while and notice that BH is erupting less often than, say, a year ago. What is going on with the pattern now and the ability to predict?
13:21:16 <Ryan(-35)> Its intervals have stretched to roughly 24-48 hours.
13:21:23 <Ryan(-35)> With a pretty high level of variability.
13:21:46 <KorbenC> these long intervals have been going on for a few years no, it is alot harder if not impossible to predict. Best signs are Beehives south Bubbler, and Strong sustained splashing with lots of water outside of the cone.
13:22:29 <Ryan(-35)> The change from pretty decent regularity to this much broader window range happened relatively suddenly within the last few months.
13:22:42 <ynpvisitor114> What action is happening with s. bubbler to watch for?
13:22:59 <Ryan(-35)> Before that it was enjoying rather regular eruptions with intervals that gradually changed over weeks to months.
13:23:15 <Ryan(-35)> Currently the South Bubbler begins erupting within about an hour of BHI/BH
13:23:23 <Ryan(-35)> It doesnt always erupt.
13:23:32 <Ryan(-35)> And non-indicator BH's are more common than usual.
13:24:02 <JarnoO> it seems the Bubbler doesn't precede Beehive more often than not lately. Over winter it was quite common
13:24:02 <Ryan(-35)> I think its trying to revert to "old Beehive" with days long intervals.
13:24:20 <ynpvisitor114> THanks for the tip. Will be there in about a week and will want to be on the watch.
13:25:23 <ynpvisitor114> Is this mugwump action new too?
13:28:14 <JarnoO> Mug
13:28:42 <Betty> nice
13:29:02 <ynpvisitor114> wow
13:29:10 <JarnoO> #114, it's been going since March or April, with occasionally consecutive days of no observed eruptions. Eruptive behavior has changed since it was first observed, too
13:29:12 <Ryan(-35)> 114, relatively. It was active in 2016, and then kind of off and on for the next couple years.
13:29:29 <Ryan(-35)> This series began pretty suddenly in March
13:29:53 <JarnoO> 3C
13:30:05 <Betty> nice too
13:30:08 <JarnoO> Aurum 1327 ns static
13:30:15 <ynpvisitor114> can this be viewed only from the road or is there trail on the other side? Is it visible at ground level or best viewed by cam?
13:31:00 <ynpvisitor84> Just from the roadside, but the view isn't bad from there.
13:32:20 <ynpvisitor114> something "new" like this makes up for some lost favorites like sawmill
13:32:46 <JarnoO> steam devil
13:41:40 <KorbenC> wow
13:41:44 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Those are Huge!
13:42:04 <Betty> amazing
13:44:01 <Ryan(-35)> Its doing good today
13:44:08 <Ryan(-35)> Mugwump is a very Sawmill-like geyser
13:45:38 <Ryan(-35)> wump-wump-wump-wump-SPLASH-wump-SPLASH
13:48:36 <KorbenC> Rocket 1329
13:56:31 <Ryan(-35)> Mug
13:56:34 <Ryan(-35)> Wow!!
13:56:39 <LindaG> Wow great mug!
13:56:49 <Ryan(-35)> That was easily 20ft
13:57:14 <LindaG> Oh that one was great too!
13:58:33 <KorbenC> Hi Linda
13:58:57 <Betty> hi LindaG
13:59:07 <LindaG> Hi KorbenC, Betty,
13:59:16 <LindaG> Good mug show
13:59:48 <Ryan(-35)> toodles
14:00:01 <KorbenC> Bye Ryan
14:00:06 <LindaG> Adios
14:02:58 <JarnoO> Korben, 1353 ie 3C was 1349 exact
14:09:02 <KorbenC> JarnoO, thanks
14:09:57 <KorbenC> nice 3C bursts
14:09:57 <JarnoO> big play by 3C now
14:10:12 <JarnoO> still the 1404 eruption though. Mug must be close :)
14:11:33 <KorbenC> mug
14:11:36 <LindaG> JarnoO, hi
14:11:41 <JarnoO> hi Linfda
14:11:44 <JarnoO> Linda*
14:11:51 <Forestbewithyou> Lindavitis
14:11:52 <KorbenC> that one was tiny :)
14:12:01 <KorbenC> Jarno, ;)
14:12:14 <KorbenC> Linfda is better than Kubda! :P
14:12:16 <LindaG> Lol
14:13:26 <KorbenC> Jarno, bet how many minutes until Eric gets enraged about how many getvideos we are making :P
14:14:10 <Eric> I am happy about it! You guys are capturing some cool stuff :-D
14:14:28 <KorbenC> that isnt what I was expecting :p
14:14:28 <Eric> especially when you put the feature/time in the reason.
14:14:47 <Eric> I usually scroll through the videos and look at the ones that interest me.
14:15:20 <Eric> Not sure if anyone else is reviewing the days videos, but personally I think it's cool.
14:15:50 <KorbenC> so I should make a getvideo saying "KorbenC- [ ]
14:15:59 <KorbenC> Kidding of ocurse
14:16:10 <Eric> What would be really cool is if we could automate the days highlights onto youtube for people to watch each day :-D
14:16:33 <JarnoO> YouTube does offer an API which does uploading
14:16:56 <Eric> I know this, the hard part is picking the highlights from the chunks you are capturing.
14:17:44 <Eric> I am actively working on allowing the videos from here to go directly up to youtube if people think they are worth pushing there.
14:17:56 <Eric> Then they can easily connect them to a GT entry.
14:18:07 <JarnoO> I'd simply upload the whole mick. Saves you from doing the hard part
14:18:22 <Eric> But the hard part is what makes it worth it.
14:18:45 <Eric> Nobody is going to scan through 40 videos pieced together than only contain a minutes of eruptions.
14:18:58 <Eric> and like 500 minutes of video :-P
14:19:21 <Eric> Just not worth it.
14:19:22 <JarnoO> true that
14:19:49 <Eric> But, we might be able to bring AI into this and help us determine the cool sections :-D
14:21:06 <Eric> Automated nightly geyser that is a good College CS project.
14:21:43 <Eric> Predictions for the next day, highlights of the day and calling out any unusual eruptions reported that day.
14:22:19 <JarnoO> reviving the geyser forecast?
14:22:29 <Eric> Yep, but with data and AI
14:22:50 <Eric> Get into college and start working on that Coop
14:23:20 <KorbenC> Nope :P
14:25:58 <KorbenC> I have this OF Jarno
14:29:44 <Eric> Lame
14:42:33 <KorbenC> Mug
14:50:39 <JarnoO> nice bursts
15:01:43 <Betty> time for sleep, night all
15:01:53 <JarnoO> night Betty
15:01:56 <Forestbewithyou> Bye Betty
15:02:24 <KorbenC> Betty, bye
15:02:37 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Night
15:08:35 <JarnoO> slosh slosh
15:11:53 <JarnoO> Isaias now forecast to become 65kt hurricane for 5 points. Track has shifted slightly eastwards but still close to the US east coast
15:12:33 <JarnoO> it's literally forecast to become a coast hugger
15:13:10 <KorbenC> its pulling a Dorian, moving north, and then more north until it doesnt hit anything, good.
15:13:51 <JarnoO> well... Dorian was on an entirely different scale. It pretty much stalled on top of the Bahamas
15:14:13 <KorbenC> scale yes, but path, look at Dorians path, lol
15:14:13 <Forestbewithyou> it just sat there was like I need some rest
15:14:15 <JarnoO> and that as a cat. 5
15:15:02 <KorbenC> Jarno, I know, I am just saying that originaly dorian like Isaias was ment to make landfall, then brush, then brush a little farther, and then just hug the coast
15:16:38 <JarnoO> ah, like so
15:26:05 <JarnoO> a Daisy
15:35:41 <JarnoO> also Grotto 1522
15:37:02 <JarnoO> steam devil
15:37:17 <JarnoO> that's a big one
15:37:22 <KorbenC> nice one
15:37:33 <KorbenC> still going :)
15:37:42 <Forestbewithyou> nice
15:37:59 <JarnoO> much wider than the one I saw over OF's vent a few months ago
15:38:05 <LindaG> Steam devil?
15:38:08 <JarnoO> though that did persist for almost a minute
15:38:09 <Forestbewithyou> sadly my stream froze :(
15:38:51 <LindaG> That was cool
15:50:54 <JarnoO> huh... was the Mug again?
15:51:17 <JarnoO> I guess it's possible, since the last eruption was comparatively small
15:52:13 <KorbenC> JarnoO, we had a 6 minute mug interval earlier too
15:53:31 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> My kid just texted me that he is stopped on I-15 due to an accident. Outside temp is 124Ā°.
15:53:45 <JarnoO> ugh
15:53:57 <JarnoO> 1550 was Three Crater
15:54:05 <JarnoO> some big play
15:54:40 <JarnoO> that's no fun standing still at 124Ā°F
15:55:30 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Nope. At that temp you have to turn off AC and turn on heater to keep the engine from overheating.
15:55:31 <JarnoO> steam devil
15:55:41 <JarnoO> yuck
15:56:26 <GO STEAMBOAT> hello. did I miss anything?
15:56:39 <JarnoO> lots of Mugs and 3Cs
15:56:55 <GO STEAMBOAT> nice...and lil sput erupted again
15:57:12 <JarnoO> 3C is doing some nice, big play. Even confused it with Mugwump a few minutes ago
15:57:26 <GO STEAMBOAT> ooh it bumped up one on the last year and 2 year counts, 97 and 48 respectively
15:57:29 <JarnoO> OF ns static
15:57:57 <GO STEAMBOAT> and had the same number of eruptions as last year (but only fr 6 hours)
15:58:35 <JarnoO> so you're saying that Steamboat is on track for 48 eruptions this year?
15:58:54 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> That was early.
15:59:27 <GO STEAMBOAT> it had 48 in the 12 month period up to the last eruption
15:59:56 <JarnoO> nice
16:00:22 <GO STEAMBOAT> so yes, it can have as many eruptions this year as last ... but thats dependent on disturbnce activities (whch we havent seen) and winter slowdown ... and if it changes faster or slower
16:00:25 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Controls released
16:01:22 <JarnoO> I'm holding my fingers crossed for no disturbance this summer. Though it'll likely happen anyway
16:01:44 <ynpvisitor81> is that bsb?
16:02:46 <JarnoO> we're on downbasin at the moment. Did you think you saw it while we were on the Hill a few moments ago?
16:07:36 <Eric> Anyone know the landing date for China's mars mission?
16:10:39 <JarnoO> Wikipedia cites it's proposed to land on 23 April 2021
16:10:44 <Eric> why is it taking China's mars mission 2 months more than Perseverence?
16:10:50 <Eric> Just found it too Jarno :-D
16:11:01 <Eric> February 18th for Perseverence
16:11:33 <JarnoO> could be that they're going at slower speeds and/or different trajectory
16:11:38 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> They have to stop and fix broken parts Jarno.
16:12:56 <JarnoO> I think NASA went with the trajectory that brings it as soon as possible there and that China does a slower, but safer approach
16:13:11 <JarnoO> or something. I don't do space missions
16:14:39 <JarnoO> the Emirates also sent an oribiter to Mars, with it arriving in February
16:15:14 <Eric> I was just looking up their landing date
16:15:19 <Eric> can't find a day
16:15:40 <JarnoO> it'll be a satellite as far as I knopw
16:15:42 <JarnoO> know*
16:16:14 <KorbenC> Kat under a TS watch now
16:17:44 <Eric> Hmm, wiki for UAE one says: "All three are expected to arrive at Mars in February 2021"
16:34:56 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Traffic jam
16:35:01 <GO STEAMBOAT> wow I see Dave now has an REI in Billings
16:36:44 <GO STEAMBOAT> they must be going soft
16:38:11 <GO STEAMBOAT> my stream isnt streaming much?
16:38:16 <JarnoO> looks like Rocket
16:38:20 <JarnoO> looked like*
16:54:54 <KorbenC> hi

16:57:15 <LindaG> JarnoO, it was nice, but hot. Nothing g new but nice to get out for a drive. Its an 8 mile drive that goes out through marsh.
16:57:39 <JarnoO> nice
17:00:39 <KorbenC> LindaG, forgot to add your name onto the end because I was trying to minimize the damage of corn on the cob to my computer :P
17:06:17 <LindaG> KorbenC, šŸ™‚
17:06:36 <Forestbewithyou> Hi Linda
17:07:51 <LindaG> here is a pic where I was today, Atlantic city in background. Pink is marshmalllow in bloom

17:10:06 <KorbenC> LindaG, awesome!
17:10:19 <Forestbewithyou> That is super cool
17:11:03 <LindaG> It is nice. You can see the birds in water on left. They were glossy ibises.
17:14:45 <LindaG> Santa fe is toasty today
17:14:59 <KorbenC> Hey SF
17:15:13 <LindaG> Hi SantaFe108

18:23:24 <KevinS> Good evening to all
18:25:49 <KorbenC> KevinS, hi
18:26:02 <JarnoO> evening KevinS
18:26:31 <KevinS> Looks like the constant logger is still odd. D?
18:27:42 <JarnoO> no signs of organization or longer spikes (which happened with previous disturbances over the past few years). No disturbance in my book as of now.
18:27:57 <JarnoO> longer as in more data points wide
18:56:51 <KorbenC> I can have this one
18:58:49 <JarnoO> good, because I'm off for today. Enjoy Little Cub doing what cubs do
18:59:01 <KorbenC> Bye Jarno
19:00:22 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> :p
19:00:36 <KorbenC> Hey Kevin
19:01:04 <KorbenC> Hurricane warning for the Bahamas
19:02:09 <KorbenC> Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ, can you actually make a video for this one, I am gonna go for a nice 5 mile walk, be back in about 97 minutes
19:02:44 <KorbenC> or at least someone make a getvideo :P
19:03:21 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> yes
19:19:18 <LindaG> Flipping through screenshots and found this one. OF/Bee duel with bison, old cam

20:36:02 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Took me 3 hours last night.
20:37:17 <KorbenC.2> That took all of 45 seconds
20:37:27 <Forestbewithyou> So did mine but mine were just installs
20:37:34 <Forestbewithyou> mine took about 2 sec
20:37:37 <KorbenC.2> Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ, any eggs from your chickens yet?
20:42:55 <Kevin Lā„¢ šŸŒµ> Probably not for about a month
20:50:33 <KorbenC.2> I am gonna head out for tonight.
21:23:27 <Forestbewithyou> I am heading out good night all
